Merry Christmas 2006 Everyone!

We were off to a slow start this year for Christmas. I didn’t rise until 8ish, Mom and Dad were both up. Before we opened any presents we called Troy (who couldn’t be with us this Christmas), Mom and Dad opened their gifts from him while he was on the phone. My present from him is still in Fredericton and I’ll open that tomorrow, when I get home.
We started as always opening our stockings, I got some text messages from Jeremy shortly there after, so I went online to talk to him for a few mins, so we were really slow opening presents. Dad as always got tons of Coke stuff…it’s taking over the house!

Here’s Wink wondering what all the excitement is about

Mom and Wink playing with the string.

Dad sporting his new Coke boxers! He was so excited he put them right on over top of his pants!

Here is a collection of the stuff that I got from everyone.

The “Dear Santa” sign is from my Aunt Bev, There is a Sarah’s Angel beside it, that’s from Mom and Dad. The salt and pepper shakers/napkin holder is from my Aunt Heather and Uncle George. The movie and santa hat is from Cheryl and Ben. The Ovations from my granddad. The New Brunswick Sheets from Santa, socks from Santa, Gilbert (from Anne of Green Gables) from Santa (he made a special stop in PEI for me!), and the collection of stuff in the front is my stocking stuffers. The big present this year was my luggage! Pink, I’m not a fan of pink, but Mom made a good point, at least it’ll stand out at the airport and I won’t have to worry about getting it mixed up with someone else!). I got pajamas from my Aunt Gail and Uncle Lloyd, it’s an every year thing! I love it, at least I’m always guaranteed pajamas!

This is a better picture of the stuff down in front!

These are Mom’s presents, minus the red bag, that’s Dad’s from Troy that he didn’t open. Mom’s presents are missing the George Foreman Grill that Aunt Bev and Kayla got for her and Dad.

This is Dad’s presents. See all the Coke stuff?!?! Where’s he gonna put this stuff?!?? Lol.
Everything there is new, except for the transport truck, that was from a previous year.

As you can tell Santa definitely found his way here!

This is just too cute, I couldn’t not take a picture of it by itself! Santa brought that!

Wink had a great time playing with all the paper and ribbon and bows, ohh and let’s not get started on the boxes and bags! Silly kitty!!!

We went for Christmas dinner with my Aunt Gail and Uncle Lloyd and the rest of my Dad’s side of the family. Sorry folks, I didn’t take my camera with me, so I have no pictures. I should have taken it to take pictures of the spread of food! OMG, there was so much!

Later that evening (after a much deserved nap), Mom and I headed down to Blackville to visit my Grandmother and Grandfather. (I took my camera this time!)

The lights on the house, see that little bear there, that’s what my mom got them last year for Christmas, the picture doesn’t do it justice, but it is definitely cute.

Here is Nanny and Grandad’s Tree and spread of gifts. I was more focusing on the Montreal Canadians guy then anything else, but wanted to get everything else as well. Pretty cool eh?!

It looks like Mom is reaching for the snowman, but she is not, she was playing with the fire trucks! LOL Actually, she’s trying to get out of the way of the picture, however she failed! HAHA!

I had to take a close up of the fire trucks because this really doesn’t do them justice. They don’t look like toys at all, not even like models, ok maybe really REALLY good models.

After that Mom and I headed home and Mom introduced me to a new website called Bebo.com, I think it’s going to be a good place to put all my pictures, I can put some in my blogs, and the rest I can put there for people to look through. Also, a lot of the relatives from Scotland are on there, and it will be an easy way to keep in touch with them.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!!!

Driving Home for Christmas

This is what I love about going home for Christmas! Every year on my way home, I always get so excited when I hit the top of the hill and I see this:

I know that home is just at the bottom where the glow from the Christmas Spirit lights up the sky. Ever since I can remember and probably that means forever, Dad and Mom have always gone all out for Christmas. My friend Darren always asks me at Christmas “Has your parents gone all St. Mary’s again this year?” And of course they do. What he is referring to is the many lights my dad puts up. Every year on the Reserve there is always a great display of lights from the people’s houses. I don’t think I’d like my dad’s house there, it would fit in and not stand out like it does now. When I topped the hill this year and seen the lights they were pretty much the only ones on, none of the neighbors had their lights on.

Once I got home, I decided to take a walk to the top of the hill and take pictures looking down, let me tell you this was not an easy task! You might think it would be, but getting a good picture of the dark and the lights was so hard! I really missed my photographer! Jeremy, how dare you go to Winnipeg for Christmas! Haha!

When I walked up the hill I noticed how big the moon was, not that it was a full one or anything. It seem like it was just sitting on top of the hill! So I tried to take a picture of that too, but again I’m not good at this night picture stuff! Give me a day time and I can take any picture you want!

This picture looked about 100 times better on my camera, I swear it! LOL but none the less, it does depict the moon! Can you pick it out?!?!? Haha!

As I walked down the hill I took pictures at various spots along the way.
About halfway down the hill…

Another a bit more of a close up…

This is at the edge of the first drive way you to come to when you go to my parents house.

It’s always important to find the new addition to the decorations! The polar bear was a gift from Santa last year to my dad. Kinda looks like the coke bear eh?!

And once more picture of the front of the house. Please note that this year the “Peace On Earth” sign is missing.

Dermoid Cyst

This post is for Jennifer! LOL She's gonna love it!

Quite a few years ago (within the last 5..I don't remember the exact year) I had surgery to have a dermoid cyst removed from my ovary on the right side. During the surgery they had to take my ovary. I've been thinking about the surgery a lot lately as mom had surgery not that long ago and it reminded me of the day I went in for surgery.

My dermoid cyst was the size of a kiwi when they first found it. I was told I would be monitored every 6 months to make sure that the cyst didn't grow any. About a year later (after no follow ups) I was going to to Colscopy clinic to have my PAP tests done (for like ever!) when I asked the doctor if the cyst would cause abnormal cells in my PAP he said no, then I explained that I was supposed to be monitored. A little bit after that I got a notice in the mail to go get an ultrasound done. During that ultrasound they discovered that the cyst had grown to the size of a softball (that is quite the increase!) That's when it was determind that they would take the cyst out. At the time of the ultrasound the cyst was not twisted, but by the time I went in for surgery the cyst had twisted and cut off the blood supply to my ovary which in turn caused the ovary to stop working and made it the removal of the ovary neccessary.

The other day at work we were talking about it and Jen asked me what a Dermoid Cyst was so I started to explain it to her and she made me shut up as she thought it was too gross! Then I told her to look it up on the internet so that she could see a picture. LOL She thought I meant I had a picture of my cyst. But I don't have my own picture, as it busted when it was taken out and he said it wouldn't have made a very nice picture! LOL

I thought that I could write a post about it so that everyone will know exactly what a dermoid cyst is. The information has been gathered from several websites.

Dermoid Cyst - A bizarre tumor, usually benign, in the ovary that typically contains a diversity of tissues including hair, teeth, bone, thyroid, etc.

What is a Dermoid Cyst?
The idea of a dermoid cyst is somewhat startling. For reasons we don't understand, the cells of the ovary can, all by themselves and without the presence of any sperm, start to produce hair, teeth, fluid, and other growing tissues to form an ovarian cyst. This is called a dermoid cyst. Dermoid cysts are fairly common, occurring most often before menopause and are almost never cancerous (less than 1/1000). Dermoid cysts have a fairly characteristic appearance on sonogram and often the diagnosis can be made this way. Unfortunately, these cysts do not go away by themselves and surgery is recommended when they are found.

What Causes a Dermoid Cyst?
I looked online for a long time for the answer to this and it ranges from you are born with it to fluid collects for no reason. So I guess what they really want to say here is they have NO idea! LOL

General Dermoid Cyst Information
Dermoid cysts may occur at any age but the prime age of detection is in the childbearing years. The average age is 30. Up to 15% of women with ovarian teratomas have them in both ovaries. Dermoid cysts can range in size from a centimeter (less than a half inch) up to 45 cm (about 17 inches) in diameter. In 25 percent of cases, cysts are found on both ovaries. Hmmm 15 to 25% of women who have a dermoid cyst in one ovary gets a cyst in the other one. This information scares me, I don't want to go through that again.

These cysts can cause the ovary to twist (torsion) and imperil its blood supply. The larger the dermoid cyst, the greater the risk of rupture with spillage of the greasy contents which can create problems with adhesions, pain etc. Although the large majority (about 98%) of these tumors are benign, the remaining fraction (about 2%) becomes cancerous (malignant).

Depending on the position of the cyst within the ovary, it may be necessary to remove a portion of or the entire ovary. In this case, a woman may wonder about her fertility potential. If the remaining ovarian tissue is normal, a woman may still ovulate, menstruate, and conceive a pregnancy. Even if one ovary is completely removed, the other ovary is stimulated and continues to produce eggs, so that conception can occur. (that's incase anyone was wondering about my fertility! LOL)

I was going to include some pictures of the cysts...but my goodness they are GROSS!! and I wouldn't want anyone to have to see them. If you are interested, the best way to find them is to type pictures of an ovarian dermoid cyst in google and it'll bring up some wonderful pictures! I found one that was all labeled and everything, but like I said...they are really gross!

Party Time

Last night I had a few friends over to play cards and other board games. It has been awhile since I have done that so I thought it was about time that I hosted a party. The last one I had hosted was for Melissa's Birthday last year....I think! It's been so long! It's almost time for Melissa's Birthday this year! LOL

In attendance were Darcy, Scott, Melissa, Fonda (first time to my place), Tim, Andrea and Tara. There were others invited some of whom claim they don't know where I live and had no drive to my place, but who happen to live just up the road...but I'm not pointing fingers! LOL

We started off the evening playing Asshole (it's a card game) Scott and I don't get along on the best of days, then add cards to the mix and you have a huge competition and fight on your hands! LOL It was all in good fun tho. Most of the time we were so busy competing with one another that others would win because we wouldn't be watching them! They all get angry with me because I happen to be able to remember what has been played and what has not, they also claim they are going to take me to vegas and win them some money! LOL

We switched to Shout About Movies after we got tired of Asshole. Scott and I again on opposite teams (always a bad idea) and we of course were competing again. I was getting tired by this time.

A little while ago Tim and Andrea had a party at their place and while there I indulged in a few too many Vodka and Sprites and accidently broke a lamp (it's been a rough month and I don't wanna list all the thinks I have broke in the last month or so it would take too long!) I felt aweful about it, but Andrea kept telling me not to worry about it, but when you break something you always feel bad. Well last night after everyone had left, Tara came back in and said there was a skunk under neath by her car. Of course we all get up to go see, and as Andrea opened the door out goes Wink! She started after the cat, by this time I'm not worried about it, Wink has gotten out so much lately it seems normal to have her gone for a few hrs. Andrea felt horrible. I looked at her and said "we're even for the lamp now" LOL that was a big joke with all of us and part of the reason why Tara insists on calling me Crash.

Andrea and Tim wouldn't leave until Wink came back by this time it's about 130am ish or so. I was exhausted and more then ready for bed. However, knew I couldn't kick them out with Andrea being so concerned about my cat. At one point we lost both Wink and Nellie out side and I seen Nellie run for the first time ever! Boy does that cat ever have some speed when she wants to. I think the only reason I caught her is because she was out of breath after her big run! LMAO Anyways, Nellie was easy to catch, Wink....Not so much! At about 230am we finally got both cats safe and sound inside the house.

That is my story of my party, sorry for those of you who missed it! It was a good time. As for the ONE who doesn't know where I live, maybe you should come visit me sometime and you do have my number and by the way, there are cabs in this city so you never "don't have a way" to my house! :0P

Thoughtful

I didn't post about my flowers! I can't believe I didn't! I was so excited to get them!

The Monday after my accident I came home to a wonderful surprise. After starting supper I went upstairs to change (my normal routine) and I found beside my bed a wonderful arrangement of plants/flowers. I was all excited and was hoping they were from Jeremy. Of course they were, who else would get me flowers?!!!!

Finally!

I got my car back on Friday! Phew!!! Just when I was beginning to think it would never be back to me!

Friday was a hectic day for me as I had to work at the video store at 2 and my car wasn't ready until noon on Friday! Lots of running around to do.

Not to mention that while I had the Rental Car in my possession (damn Hyundai Accent) I bumped into the curb on Monday (during the snow storm) and wrecked the hub cap on the damn car! So then I had to go find a new hub cap for it, after calling the dealership and finding out it was going to be about 40 bucks for a new hub cap, I decided to just go that route. I get to the dealership and he brings the hub cap, but it's missing the center piece and I'm like, umm...well it has a center piece too. The guy says you need that too? I said yes of course. he said ohh that's extra. All together it was gonna cost me 73 dollars for the new hub cap. I was like holy hell, not gonna happen. I call the local junk yards to no avail, no one had a hub cap for me that would match. So I ended up going to get the brand new hub cap at the dealership and shelling out 73 dollars that I didn't have to spend on a car that is not mine!

My car stunk so bad when I got it back, I went to Shoppers and bought a Yankee Candle Air Freshener. Now my car smells like Lilacs and the stink! LOL not a good combination! Ahh well I smell more flowers then actual stink so I guess it's all good!

My car works good so far, so everyone keep their fingers crossed that I don't have any more problems.

I'm so excited that my front end doesn't have any bugs on it! The licence plate (they had to give me a new one) is sparkling, the whole car is wonderful! I have talked to it every day, Jeremy thinks I'm nuts, but I think it's something that has to be done to keep her happy! LOL

Ooooppsssy!

So it happens to everyone in their life time (or at least most people) You are involved in a Car Accident. I went 28 years without being in a car accident, however last night at 620pm that all changed. I rear ended another car. Ick I hate saying that! If anything I never wanted to be in accident let alone one that was my fault!

So I'm driving down Main St on my way to Junior Achievement at FHS. Right around Tim Horton's. I'm not sure what I was doing that had my attention away from the road, but when I looked up I seen the red car ahead of with it's brake lights on and at that moment, I realized that there was no way I could get stopped in time. And BANG! I rear ended the guy.

After a few tries, I got my car off the road and got out of the car to talk to the guy I hit. He and exhanged are you ok's and then we discussed what to do. He wanted me to just give him money to fix his car and then I would put my car through insurance. I didn't like the sounds of that because I really don't have the money to pay for his car and my car. Not that there was much damage to his car. See pictures below to see my car. What happened is my car sits lower then his car so my front bumper went underneath his car.

I didn't call the cops, but someone did and with in a few mins a lady cop showed up to get the information. It seemed to take forever to get my car on a tow truck and for my aunt and uncle to show up and for the cop to finish the paperwork so that I could go on my way (minus my car of course). In actuality, it only took about 2 hrs. or so. I of course called my mom right away and my cell died so she was upset cuz she wasn't sure I was ok and stuff. I did get a hold of her a little later in the night.

Anyways, presenting.....Why People Should Never Take Their Eyes Off the Road!

This picture is for Stephen! This is our fog light!!! LOL Guess it's gonna get really fixed this time eh?!?!

Happy Birthday Gordo!!!

I had two birthdays today! Gordo's birthday is today too, however he elected to be away for both my birthday and his own, so unfortunately he did not get to celebrate his birthday with the rest of us. But knowing Gordo, he had a blast where he is! I can't wait to hear the stories of his birthday bash!

Hope you had a great day on Sunday! I'm sure your weekend rocked!

See ya when you get home!

Happy Birthday Krystal!

Happy Birthday Krystal!

For Krystal's Birthday they had a party for her starting at her place and moving to a local bar where a band was playing. The guy she is currently seeing is in the band, so I wonder why they decided to go there???? LOL

I worked until 10pm so I headed over to the bar after work and was of course welcomed with warm hugs and great enthusiasm. Krystal got some presents, and there was food there as well, I noticed a shrimp ring and some nacho dip! LOL I didn't stay long as I was a little hung over from Tim's birthday party and I was extremely tired from working all day. It was great to see everyone again tho!

Hope you have a great day on Sunday! (as that is when her actual birthday is!)

Happy Birthday Tim!!!

I know I'm a little late with the birthday wishes on the blog, however I was at your place Friday night and wished you Happy Birthday then too!

Friday night, Jeremy and I went to Tim's house in the MINI HOME PARK. I had a great time. I got off work at 10pm, came home picked Jeremy up and then drove to Tim's house. It was raining pretty hard.

When we arrived at Tim's house, Tara, Lisa, Josh, Tim and Andrea, were all sitting around the living room chatting it up. We started playing a game of Asshole shortly after we got there. I did end up shuffling the cards a few times and so did Jeremy.

I had a few drinks, of course I had also been up since 4am. The drinks hit me pretty hard and I stumbled once and broke a lamp at Andreas! I want to pay her for it, but she keeps telling me not to worry about it. I felt soo bad about breaking it too!

Tara left and then Jeremy and I left shortly after that. Jeremy and I walked home in the rain. It was a good walk, however we were both soaked by the time we got to my house.

3 Weeks at The Gym!!!!

Two weeks ago, I decided to get a year membership at the gym. Me being me, I of course thought of ways I could get out of it, JUST IN CASE! You know, hate to be stuck paying for something I don't want or need!

So my free week, plus my two paid weeks at the gym, equals 3 weeks! I've been going pretty regularly. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and sometimes Saturday, depending on my mood. It's not a necessary day, so I decide the day of if I want to go.

Thursday, I met with a Personal Trainer (I get a total of 4 visits with her). She gave me a routine/program, so now I have a set thing to do while I'm at the gym. This is a good thing. She worked the program around so that I'm only at the gym for about an hour. This is good, I don't really want to be at the gym any longer then that anyways.

I learned how to use all the weight machines at the gym, and she gave me a lot of exercises to do on them. I use mostly 20 lbs weights for my arms, and 100 on the leg press. Powerful figure skating legs I guess! LOL There is one machine for the legs that I only do 10lbs on, that's because it's really freaking hard! It really works the thighs and butt. It's about 400 times more intense then any thigh master I've ever seen! LOL

I'm also doing an excerise on the ball with 4lbs weights. Lifting them to shoulder height, arms extended. I did like 6 of these with the trainer on Thursday and my shoulders were sore all day Friday! and I have to do 20 of them?!!? 3 times?!?!!? OMG My arms might fall off!

She also taught me the proper way to do a crunch (as in sit up). There is a lot to think about when you do one. It probably took 20 mins for me to understand what she was telling me. I think I'll pass on the information that she gave me so that anyone out there reading this that's doing crunches will know the proper way! LOL
Step one - Lay on the floor with your knees bent
Step two - make sure your back is flat on the floor (not arched) That is why you bend your knees. She also told me that you should never sleep or lay flat on your back, especially if you have lower back problems.
Step three - tighten abs (much more difficult then it sounds trust me!) She had me laying on the floor at the gym with my fingers pushing right above my hips and tightening my abs, when you tighten them you can feel your stomach muscle push out. It's kinda cool actually!
Step four - this hardest if you ask me. You know those exercises that are good for strengthening your orgasims, girls? Kegal (or whatever) do one of those. This will tilt your pelvic bone up slightly.
Step five - Now that you have taken 10 mins to get all that stuff done right. Then you do the crunch, while keeping everything else tight!

See what I mean! These things really are complicated.
So I told my personal trainer that, I didn't know if I would remember all of that information. She said once you do them a few times you will remember and they will be easy for you. She said the biggest thing to remember is to not push your belly out when you are doing crunches, tighten those abs otherwise your stomach will form out instead of in. and you want to have a flat stomach. I said yes my stomach already sticks out. LOL we laughed about that and then she made me do a bunch more of those crunches. I have to do 20-25 of those 3 times. I think she's right after the first day of doing it right, I'll just remember after that!

Thanksgiving Day Dinner!

Thanksgiving dinner! MMMM it was soo yummy!

Jeremy and I took the long way to mom and dad's on Monday, around through Minto and Chipman. It was a nice drive, but like most New Brunswick Drives it was a little on the boring side....lots of trees! LOL

Upon arriving at the house, we noticed that everyone was sitting outside (what a beautiful day!) We brought some of the chairs around from the front of the house so I could sit in the sun and not be cold. We watched Dad and John build mom's deck that she's been waiting to have for well as long as the house has been built and I grew up in that house! LOL That's my dad! He'll do it eventually! Gotta Love him!

After I got there, I decided that I should return an empty jar of pickles to my cousin Essie, as I needed a refill (of course there was an alterior motive! LOL). I stole (ok I was given) Mom and Dad's car to go down the road to visit/get pickles. When I arrived at Essie's house there were people there doing renovations (it looks real nice too). I did the typical hometown thing, where I knocked on the door and then let myself in. Josh was the only one home, so I had a brief conversation with him. Most of which was him trying to remember where the rest of the family went to. His mind was in gaming mode and wasn't easily shaken out of that mode! After a few moments, he told me they were at Essie's mom's house and that they had just left. So after getting the "need to know" information, I headed home empty pickle handed!

Once home, I started helping mom set the table and put the finishing touches on supper. Hazel, John's friend, was home sick with the cold. We offered John to stay for supper, but he said he had to get home to check on Hazel. So what does mommy dearest do?! Why she calls Hazel of course and invites her for supper too! The deal was she would come to supper if we would go pick her up. I had never seen their place so I decided I would go with mom to see where John and Hazel live.

Their house is magnificent! I loved it! I want it! I want that master bedroom, I want the view, I want the sleigh bed! I want it all! LOL I of course gave myself a tour of the house, with my mom of course. Once we got upstairs (where the really nice view is) mom opened a closet and it was filled with Photographs in frames! and I mean FILLED!!!!! I have like 4 pictures on the walls of my house and he has a closet full of pictures and no place to hang them. So what do I do???!!! SNOOP of course!!! LOL Then mom said "Lisa, get out of the closet you!" so I had to abandon the closet full of pictures! LOL I found out on my visit that John is a carpenter! I was very excited about this and decided that he should make me a bed! LOL Since my bed frame is broken and I'm in need of a new one anyways, why not have him make me one, I would of course pay him, but I just want a bed! LOL Then I just have to get new mattresses! Ohh but I didn't stop at the bed, I want night tables to go with it of course! LOL

Once we got back to the house, (by this time poor Jeremy was starving pretty near to pieces!) Mom and I put the mad dash on getting supper ready. It was ready in no time and we were all sitting down eating a fantastic Thanksgiving Dinner!

After dinner we sat outside and talked for awhile and I helped clean up a bit and the it was time to start the journey home. On my way out, as I was giving hugs to Mom and Dad, I turned to John and said "Next time I am over, we'll have to sit down and discuss plans for my new bed and night stands" He just looked at me so I added "that will be built of course by you" then everyone started laughing! I'm not sure they took me serious! I was dead serious! LOL

Gym Day 1

I have decided to join the gym. I have selected Kingswood as my gym of choice. I picked this gym basically because so many people I know go to this gym. This makes it easier for me to stay motivated, or at least I hope so!

Krystal, my neighbour and good friend goes to that gym so we have decided that we will be gym buddies.

Today being my first day I had planned on doing Cardio all day for the full hr or for at least most of it. Krystal had other plans! I did 20 mins on the eliptical (sp?) machine and thought I was going to die. This is why I joined the gym, I am in way too bad of shape for a 28 year old! We then proceeded to the weight machines. I did well with the legs, but not good with the arms! No wonder I can't open any of those jars in the cupboard! I have no arm strength! But that is all about to change folks! I am going to be wonder woman soon enough! Just you all wait and see!

My first week at the gym is free because they have a trial membership there, and I'm taking advantage of that before I get my membership. I haven't decided whether to get a year membership or just a 4 month one. If i get the year membership, it's 46 a month, if I get the 4 month one it's 220 every 4 months. Krystal tells me that you can defer it at any time for a month. So I think that sounds ok, that way if I get sick I can always defer the month and go again the next month. That makes sense right?!

The Day After My Birthday!

Wednesday evening I headed over to Doaktown to have supper with my mom and dad for my birthday. My mom made cheesecake at my request! When I got to the house I could smell the turnips and carrots cooking!!! Nothing like my mom's cooking!

I was the first of the guests to arrive..ohh well me and Jeremy were the first to arrive. I stood outside and had a smoke with my mom when my grand parents arrived. I said ohh no Nanny's going to yell at me for smoking. Jeremy quickly jumped behind me so that I would get the full blow! (thanks so much Jeremy!)

I was surprised tho when it wasn't Nanny who said something to me it was Grandad. He said, "Lisa, what's that in your hand?" I said, You know what it is. Then I got the look and anyone who knows my grandad knows what "the look" is! LOL

Shortly after Nanny and Grandad arrived, Dad came home from the work, followed by Cathy and David and Hazel and John. I was a bit surprised as I thought it was only going to be Mom, Dad, Me, Jeremy and maybe Nanny and Grandad.

Mom had prepared Ham, Potatoes, Turnips, and Carrots for supper. OMG was it ever good! For dessert there were two things, MY cheesecake and another dessert that had strawberries on the top. Both of course were big hits with the guests!

After supper, I was brought cards. Nanny and Grandad gave me 15 pounds sterling (whatever the sterling means LOL), David and Cathy gave me scratch and win cards (I love those things and I haven't scratched them all yet..but no winners yet either!), Mom and Dad gave me 25 dollars (Canadian) to go towards the purchase of of my passport and it is only to be used for that, Hazel and John gave me 10 Pounds in change (their plan is to make me used to the coins before I get over there.)
I have figured that I'm going to mess up on the 5 pence and 10 pence (i think) as the 5 looks like our dimes and the 10 looks like our quarters. I can see a problem in the future!

Thanks so much to everyone for the presents! They were of course perfect!!!

Happy Birthday Me!!!

I had a great birthday. I had my favorite dishes! Hashbrown Casserole and Chicken in a Sweet and Sour type sauce. I had to cook it myself, and it was AWESOME!!!!!

I got a great card from the people at work! As Fonda said in the card only 364 more days to go! Kim (one of my co workers) got me a free French Vanilla from Tims.

My friend Krystal got me a card! It was a funny one and I really enjoyed it...seemed to fit me quite well!

My friend Jeremy got me new speakers for my laptop, external ones! Now I'll be able to hear my movies!!!!

Tomorrow night it's off to moms for a family dinner! Will update later!

Happy Early Birthday to me!!!

My birthday isn't until Tuesday, however the great thing about having your birthday during the week is that you get to celebrate it all weekend! Not that you can't anyway! LOL

Last night I went to my friend Tara's after work at the store to play poker. When I arrived Andrea met me in the drive way and was trying to stall me from going inside as they had decorated the Garage with balloons and a banner! We sat down and talked for a few mins had a shot of something (it was good..lol) Tara said "the reason Darcy asked you if you like ice cream cake is because we got you one for your birthday" So she brought out the cake and then the proceeded to put candles on the cake....Do you know how long it has been since I blew out candles?? I got them all in one blow tho!!! haha!

I had a great night playing cards and having some drinks with close friends, ohh and freezing in Tara's garage! LOL By the end of it I was wrapped up in a sleeping bag to stay warm!

Thanks so much to Tara, Tim and Andrea! I really appreciated the balloons, banner and cake! Love you guys!

Not to Yellowknife

It seems that Jeremy will not be going to Yellowknife now. He will however be leaving at some point, once the army decides where he is going. He's asking to be sent to Winnipeg to do something. I don't know what cuz I didn't understand what he said he would be doing out there, all I got out of the conversation was Winnipeg. lol ... maybe I wasn't listening?? quite possible!

Loopy Ramblings Part 2

***This time next year I will be sitting in Scotland! I was talking to Melana last night and we both got a little excited thinking about my trip being only a year away!

***My birthday is coming up on Tuesday! It's only a week away people! I turn the big 2-8 this year, where have the years gone?! I feel like I was just turning 19 last year! Mind you, I have grown as a person since then, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

***Today is an old friends birthday, I know she won't be reading this but she is in my thoughts. Happy Birthday Jane!

***Tomorrow is Darcy's Birthday. I like the fact that she will always be a little older then me! Happy Birthday Darce!

***My Friend Tara's husband, Tim, and I share a birthday. He was the first person I met that has the same birthday as me! He's a little older then me, but still we share a birthday.

***My next vacation time is in November. It just so happens that Darcy, Melissa, Tim, and Tara all have the same week off as I do! We are planning a Karaoke at the Snooty Fox during that week (that would be a Wednesday!!!) Since I seem to be working myself into a early grave (so my friends tell me) I think I am going to try to take most of that week off and spend it relaxing at home...sleeping in and doing nothing! So Gordo...No 5am text messages for 1 week in November! Ok...you can stop doing the happy dance now!!! :oP

***If you get paid weekly there are 14 pays til Christmas!!! 7 pays left if you are paid biweekly. And if you are me you have a total of 21 pays left before Christmas!! haha...one of the advantages of having two jobs!

***Planning parties suck! I don't mind planning them when I am all excited about the party, however until last night I was not excited. Krystal and I went shopping for some supplies for the party last night and yeah....now the excitement is starting to build! Time to start Hyping up the party and getting people interested in going! More so then they already are!

***Look at this!!!! Two Blog updates in a day!!! haha...so that means I can take a couple of days off right?? LOL

Can you fix my cell phone?

I know I have mentioned my dislike for stupid people. I know everyone has their bad days, but seriously! I think we should all have bad days on the same day, maybe we would be more sympathetic??

Thursday, I took my phone in (AGAIN!) because it was starting to do the same thing it was doing when I had to have it sent away. I figured it was the battery creating the problems and thought that Cox could give me a hand with having it replaced.

I walked into Aliant in the Regent mall and walked up to the counter (not busy..was 2pm on a Thursday) I explained to the girl that my phone had broke and that I had sent it away to be fixed, that it was gone for 6 weeks, I just got it back and now it's acting up again. I said, since the only thing that is old on the phone is my battery, that could be the source of the problem.
The lady behind the counter suggested that we send my phone away again.
I said "for a battery? Don't you have one here?"
She said "I'm sorry all I can offer is to send it away. The Asst Manager might be able to do more"
I said "ohh ok..Are they here?"
"Yes" came the reply.
I small pause followed by me saying "well can I talk to her?"
"ohh yes, do you want me to go get her?"
I felt like screaming "No I was just checking to see if I was allowed to speak with her." but in reality I said "yes please" (I'm so polite..lol)

The asst manager comes out and I explain the story to her again, I gave her my name and she looked stuff up on the computer. She said "so you think it's a battery problem?"
I nodded "Well we have two options. 1. Send the phone away again or 2. Replace the battery."
I said "I'm not sending my phone away again."
"I understand that" she said. Then she said "do you want me to go look for a battery?"
By this time in my head I'm screaming WHY ARE YOU SO DUMB??? "yes" I said.
She returned to the counter without a battery. "We don't have any. Our other location may have one. Do you want me to call there to see?"
I said "If they do can I have it for my phone?"
"yes" she said. "Well then yes I want you to call. I want my phone fixed."

After a brief phone conversation, she confirmed that the Cox on Main St had the battery I needed, she printed off the receipt and sent me on my way. Saying "You shouldn't have wait over there"

Yeah Right. I walk into Cox (Main Street Edition). It's the first time I have ever been in over there. There were 4 employees working that I could see. One was waiting on a customer at the counter, One was on the phone with a customer and two others were chatting at the counter. I stood for what seemed like 10 mins (probably more like 2)

Finally someone asked if they could help me, I explained that I was there to pick up my battery for my cell phone. They said I needed to talk to Jeff who was on the phone. I heard his ending sales pitch (so true yet so corny) "Well sir, I have to suggest that you go with the bigger set, because you don't hear many people say I wish I had gone for the smaller set" I rolled my eyes.

Finally Jeff got off the phone and said "ohh you are here for your battery right?"
"yep" I said.
"Ok, come with me to the service department"
Service department?? It's a battery for my cell phone!!! It doesn't need service. I can do it myself!! I thought.

We headed to the back of the store, where I met Tommy, the service guy. Jeff explained the situation incorrectly, which sent poor Tommy on a 10min goose chase for a new battery, which he was holding in his hand. Tommy comes back and says holding up the new cell phone battery that Jeff had given him "this is the new battery isn't it?"
I nodded to frustrated to talk. He set to work to do the HARD task of taking out my old battery and inserting the new battery. And voila finally after an hour I had the new battery in my phone!

What an ordeal I tell you!

Havest Jazz and Blues 2006

I've lived in Fredericton for 10 years (or there abouts) and have never taken in the biggest Jazz and Blues Festival in North America....and to be honest I never planned on taking it in either! LOL

Friday night at work a friend of mine (who newly moved to Fredericton) text messaged the crap out of me! Gordo wanted me to go to the Festival and meet him there. I didn't really want to at first, but his text messages turned into phone calls..LOL Eventually, I agreed to head over after work.

I was worried about parking my car, and I knew I would be drinking, so I didn't want to leave my car downtown over night. I called Tim to see if he wanted to go, but he declined, but agreed to drive me over and drop me off at City Hall to meet up with Gordo. Celeste called me around the same time (or messaged me on MSN) and asked if I wanted to go with her and Jay, so I got Jay and Celeste to come pick me up and we headed to the festival! We recognized Gordo right away, however he was a little tipsy and talking to some people so he didn't exactly recognize us right away.

My festival experience started with Gordo, Celeste, Jay, Justin and myself standing on the street chatting about where we should go...we decided to head to the Rogue for a few drinks before the Afterburner at the Bud Light Tent.

While standing on the street, I seen a Manager from work walk past, hoping she wouldn't notice...but alast she did! URRGGGHHH and I called in sick on Friday too! Ahh well, I did have a headache in the morning, but got rid of it after a few hours of sleep.

At the Rogue, Gordo was nice enough to buy us all a tower of draft to share. I somehow ended up with more! Since my glass was never empty. After the Rogue we started to go to the Bud Light Tent. Gordo was a bit embarrassing, but we managed to put up with him! LOL

At the Bud Light Tent the cost on the sign and the cost on the program were two different prices, when I asked about them the lady said there's no HST on the prices in the program. I asked if it said HST was to be included at door in the program. She shrugged at me. I complained for a few mins as I tried to look at the program (but the beer was taking it's effect and I wasn't reading too well) I paid the 12 dollars to get into the tent, but I didn't want to!

Inside the tent was huge! There was a car (VW) maybe?? Grand Stands for people to sit on, two places to get beer and food and (unknown to me) a opening to get to the washrooms.

Tara (who was volunteering) tapped me on the shoulder and told me she was there if I needed her. Then Andrew came up to me (a guy I work with) and tapped me on the shoulder and pointed to the exit and laughed. I laughed and then grabbed him and yelled in his ear "I paid 12 dollars to get in here even tho the program states 10!" He laughed at me again realizing that was a bit tipsy. I told him that the program should say "+ HST" He laughed and carried on his way! I caught up to Gordo who gave me yet another beer (as if I needed it). We moved up closer to the stage and enjoyed the music.

A little later, I had to pee (wonder why) and I headed to the outside of the tent where I seen the bathrooms. I found Andrew out there and asked him if I needed to be outside the tent to go to the bathrooms. He laughed at me and shook his head "No, Lisa, come here" he took me to the front of the tent and said "if you go inside and turn right there is a big sign that says washrooms. try there" I thanked him and carried off inside the tent.

Celeste and Jay headed out before the end of the concert and Gordo and I hung out for a bit in front of city hall. We talked for quite awhile and then I headed home.

Overall it was a good night and I would most definitely do it again next year!

Thanks Gordo for dragging me to the festival!

Single VS Coupled

Do single people want to hang out with coupled people all the time?
Answer: No! It's depressing to sit there and even if the couple aren't lovey, you still know they are together and can see the special connection that they have, it makes the single people jealous and disappointed that they can't find someone to share those things with.

Do single people enjoy holidays like Valentine's Day and birthdays?
Answer: Sometimes! Who doesn't like a good Birthday party??? Everyone does! You can do that with anyone! Would it be nice to spend it with a special person? YES!!!! Most single people ignore Valentine's Day. At least I do.

It's a fact that no one likes being the third wheel. Whether it be hanging out with someone and their special someone, or hanging out with two friends who are on the same wave length that night. It makes the time spent uncomfortable for the "third wheel". Of course, on the other side of things, people don't usually intend to make someone feel like the third wheel, but trust me even though your intentions are good it does happen and there isn't anything you can do to stop it from happening.

As for holidays, everyone loves holidays and they want to spend it with people they love and want to be with. Whether it be friends, family or whatever. Coupled people don't seem to understand that the single person doesn't want to spend it alone, hell they spend every other day home alone, when it's a birthday or something, they want to do something fun and something different and be with people. Why should it be like every other day, where you go home and you have a nap in the afternoon and then watch TV? Coupled people who spend their birthdays alone, because their partner is away for business..they of course miss their partner, but at the same time, they don't spend every other day alone, so this is a treat for them.

Now, on the other side of things, let's look from the coupled persons point of view for a moment.

Single people often get angry with their coupled friend (or frustrated rather then angry) because they don't like to do the same things they used to. They check to see what the other half is doing before making plans to go out with the girls/guys. Understandable, it's not that they report to that person, they just want to be respectful to their partner in informing and discussing plans. Although it gets annoying to the single group, it is understandable if they were to stop and think of what they would be like in a relationship if the guy/girl just made plans to go out with friends before discussing it with them first. It's just a respect thing.

Coupled people tend to worry about their single friends. Of course, they wish and hope that they will find someone who will treat them right, and maybe they will like this one. Coupled people try their hardest to include their single friends in what they do, as they don't want to lose the friendship. The single person doesn't want to lose the friendship either. Priorities are different between coupled people and single people, ok not really priorities, but interests are different. Single people like to go out to meet new people, expand the social circle (not that coupled people don't like to do that from time to time) while coupled people tend to spend the time and energy maintaining the friendships and relationships that they currently have. They hardly feel the need to expand their circles, they have what/who they want in their lives, single people mostly want to expand their circle to help find "the one" (if there is such a thing).

So that is my rant for today! I'm gonna use this blog more I think...at first I just wanted it to be a happy place to put all my happy memories and what not, but now, I'm just gonna write about whatever I want to and today I'm feeling down a bit and so you are all gonna read about it! HAHA

Yellowknife Bound

My dear friend Jeremy is Yellowknife bound. Not sure when he's gonna be going, but he'll be off soon. He'll be gone for about a year then he returns to Fredericton to complete his course.

How do I feel about this?

I'll miss him...for sure. I knew when I met him that he would be going away, not that it makes it any easier for him to be going.

Does he really have to leave so close to my birthday?!?!?!? LOL
The answer the military doesn't give a rats ass about my birthday! LOL They should tho! It would have been nice to spend my birthday not only with my friends, but with someone I feel a special connection with.

Side note: The military didn't give a rats ass about my Graduation either! LOL But it was still great just the same and I wouldn't change it now for the world! I'm sure my birthday will be great as well, because as I have mentioned a million times over I have the best family and the greatest friends I could ever ask for! I love you all so much!

Kitty Found

I found my kitty apparently she doesn't like to be cold and as soon as she got cold she came back to the house! Actually to me because I was outside talking to a neighbour!

Of course I would never really sell my kitty!! I just get angry with her sometimes and think she should move out on her own...HAHAHA I would miss her so much if she was to leave! Who else would keep me warm at night?? Considering she sleeps under the covers with me!

Cat For Sale!

I've decided to get rid of my youngest cat. I will even pay someone to take her. Ok I wouldn't do that really....well maybe, she has made me pretty angry tonight!

I was changing the kitty litter (a job done outside) and when I went to bring the clean box into the house Wink got out! GRRRRR at her! I thought ohh she never gets far I'll go get her in a min. I took the litter to the garbage shed and then went looking for her. There she was on my neighbours deck! I didn't want to go the deck to get her so I just left her again. I went into the house as I have company over and felt it was rude of me to not at least inform Jay that I was chasing the cat. I went back outside to catch the stupid cat! Wink came towards me meowing..I thought ohh there we go she's going to come home now! Nope as soon as I took one step towards her she took off running full tilt...I've never seen her run so fast!

After she stopped to eat the grass for a few mins I decided to try to catch her again, again no luck. She took off running in the opposite direction between the row of houses towards the main road. GRRR @ her!

So needless to say she is still missing!

Just an Update

So...tonight I log into my computer and I do what I do every night. I go through my favorites list in order to see if there is anything entertaining to do. I thought there wasn't going to be anything until I came across my friend Jen's blog....holy busy Batman! That girl is always on the go..or so it seems. She has soo many hobbies! I should take some of them up, but I wouldn't know where to start. Her and Fonda are making quilts...rag quilts...I've made baby quilts before, but have never attempted a big quilt..ok I lie I did ONCE...and I got as far as embroidering the squares and that's where I stopped...I don't even think I got them all done. but I lack ambition, I kept saying I would finish it when I get married...LOL...seems I have tons of time to finish it..so really why rush?!?!?!?! (Jen you'd love the squares...remind me some day and I'll bring them in to show you!)

Anyways (holy off topic Batman) Jen's blog is her weeks events..what she did all week. Her blog was really long and included pictures. Now I'll do my blog like she did hers....umm I can't remember what day she started with...anyways I'll start with Sunday.

Last Sunday I went shopping with my friend Celeste (no she doesn't see the future or tell fortunes...LOL Any Day's Fans out there??) I actually invited her to come with me, as I hate shopping alone and figured she could help me find a new bra...which was the purpose of the shopping spree. I went to Lilanne (or whatever) in the mall. yup they had bras that fit...but not right...my boobs were literally not fitting in the cups, all my other bras that are the same size fit FINE! The lady says Maybe you are a bigger cup size...No I says...I am wearing that size right now and as you can see it fits fine. After trying on several very nice bras (rather pricey too) nothing was suiting me. So Celeste and I continued our adventure through the mall on to Reitmans, I looked at two skirts there that came to about half way down my calves. Celeste had 2 arm fulls of stuff to try on, so into the dressing room we went. I tried on the jean skirt and immediately didnt like it. We came out of the dressing rooms to show each other....I said What do you think? Celseste says...I don't think it's you...I said I think it's the length of the skirt. I pulled the skirt up to knee level and said now what do you think...Celeste says yeah it's the length of the skirt..Yup I agreed and that was the end of that! Celeste bought a nice blue dress shirt there. We next went to Aldo (as she was looking for a pair of shoes). Ok, I don't usually get my shoes at shoe stores, I'm a walmart girl! LOL Anyways....Aldo doesn't have normal shoe sizes..there are no size 7s or 6s..it's 36 and 38 or something crazy! LOL So she picked out a cute pair of shoes to begin with I liked them I would have fell over in them because the heel was sooo high..but they were cute..but the didn't have them in brown in her size (of course) So then the sales guy showed her some pointed toed shoes. I am not a fan of pointed toe shoes..not sure why...I think they look like elf shoes! If only they curled at the ends! LOL Anyways, she was trying them on and I was curling my nose up at them. The sales guy says see how nice these are. I said if she was an elf maybe. He said well look at how it makes her foot appear longer and her legs thinner. I said I don't see that I just see a pointed toe and think she should have on a green and red outfit and be sitting on a sleigh with a guy in a red and white suit..LOL The sales guy did chuckle, however, then he looked at Celeste and said don't listen to her. LMAO
After the shopping trip I didn't really do much of anything. Relaxed all night.

Monday. I slept all day and I do mean all day. I woke up at 8am on Sunday and was back in bed by 1030am. I was awake at 8pm (wake at several other times of the day too, but not out of bed) got up for a bit back to sleep by 11pm and slept until my alarm went off at 4am. At that time I did not want to get out of bed! LOL I had only slept the whole day of Monday away..but still didn't wanna get out of bed.

Tuesday. worked at UPS was a slow day didn't do anything after work.

Wednesday. Nothing again but work at UPS.

Thursday. Nothing again but work at UPS

Friday. Worked at UPS and the video store. Wish TJ would take the change to the bank cuz it's a pain to count! LOL

Saturday (today). Went for breakfast with Melissa and Darren. Seen Frosh everywhere I went! LOL Shineorama Day! I remember doing that when I was in university! I gave thenm 4 bucks..would have gave more but didn't have any other change in my pocket! LOL Breakfast with Darren and Melissa at the Blue Canoe was good...love their breakfast and I loved the company! Melissa stood in line forever to get a peanut butter sqaure! I hope it was very YUMMY Melissa to make it worth the wait! LOL Darren and I of course complained the whole time we waited for her! LOL Hey what are friends for!?!? HAHA. I went to get groceries afterwards. How is it that a person can spend so much on food?!?! We all just poop it back out anyways!!!! LOL

I had a few interesting people into the video store today. It's amazing how dumb people can be. Seriously, it's a video store and people think they don't have to return movies?!?! I was asked today "You mean I have to bring the movie back?" I was screaming inside to say "no dumbass just keep it for the rest of your life for 1 dollar plus tax!!!" but I didn't, I just stated that we rented movies. Honestly tho! LOL.

That's enough of an update for now! LOL I'll try to update again sometime this week.

Picking yourself up

So when something goes wrong or bad in life, the saying that comes to mind is Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep on going. Somtimes it's hard to pick yourself up, but usually with great friends, you can manage to do it more quickly then you thought possible.

I don't like picking myself up...i like staying in the upper area...LOL but I do fall. And I usually hit hard. I'm at a point where I need to pick myself up, dust myself off and remember that I am a fairly good person and that someday someone will see that, and until then don't let it bother me that not everyone realizes what a good person I am.

Mind Reading

Why is it that people expect others to be able to read their minds? I for one am NOT a mind reader. I have no idea what people are thinking. There are a few people who I can tell are upset or angry by their actions or expressions, but this does not make me a mind reader.

I had a situation on Thursday where I told someone something and they blew up at me saying that they were upset about a situation in their life. The person and I had talked about the situation earlier and everything seemed fine, new game plans were in place and decisions were waiting to be made. I figured the situation was dealt with. Apparently not because I was not sympathetic or supportive to this person in their eyes. WTF I think I'm too sympathetic, I always put myself in someone elses shoes and I do it for long periods of time, seriously....I always think of others before myself. It was very hurtful for them to tell me I wasn't supportive or sympathetic.

I figure that since this person thought I should have known (even tho it was never said) that he was upset...when everything appeared fine regarding the situation. I knew there would be a degree of disappointment and frustration that would come with the type of situation, but didn't know how much until they blew up at me.

Then this person disappeared for 3 days...and is still missing. I haven't talked to them in 3 days, not that I care at this moment because I find they have been extremely immature and are avoiding the situation. That's right little one RUNNING Away from problems is definitely how you fix them! Nice to know this now tho rather then after years have passed.

Anyways I felt like venting..thought this would be a good place..plus Jen's been after me for an update! Sorry Jen I'll be sure the next one is more HAPPY! LOL

My Worst Date Ever

This happened some time ago, but I can laugh about it now, and I thought I would share it with my Blog readers so you can get some entertainment on it.

I met this guy online who was from the Miramichi, he knew another guy that I worked with, who is a good person. The online guy told me that him and the work guy were good friends. I thought well the work guy is a good guy and good people usually have good friends. So when he asked me on a date I agreed. Now, I knew he was not working at the time, but that didn't bother me. I asked the work guy about him and he seemed like he wasn't all that good of friends with him, but by that time I had already agreed to the date.

We agreed to meet at the mall and go down the Snooty Fox for supper. He was driving a truck (which I might add looked like a piece of crap) and I drove us down to the pub. We stood in line for a bit cuz it was a Friday (I think I was working Tuesday to Saturday at the time), there wasn't much conversation. I was already not impressed. I prefer someone who will at least talk to me. LOL At first look he looked like the football guy on a movie who was big and stupid. And I was right! LOL

It was crowded there that night, and I'm not sure if you have ever been there but there isn't much room between the tables anyways, and even less room with all those people around. We were seated beside a table of 4, they got there after us. There was still no conversation between me and my date. At this point, I was thinking that the date couldn't get any worse, and couldn't end fast enough!

Never think can't, couldn't or never when you are in a situation you don't want to be in...because....YES IT CAN GET WORSE!!!!!

He interupts the table next to us to comment on skidoos and airplanes. I was moritified...I was soo completely embarassed by him and the way he just joined their conversation. I wanted to leave right then, but our food had just arrived.

The bad date doesn't end there! Ohh no folks...it keeps going! LOL

After our food was finished and the waitress comes over and asks if we want the bill seperate or together, he said "together". I thought ohh that's nice he's going to pay...but no obviously together was to make it easier for ME to pay for the dinner! That's right folks, he made me pay for our dinner. Can you believe that?!?! cuz I sure as hell can't....needless to say this was the only date this guy ever got out of me, even tho he told me he had a great time and wanted to go out again sometime. Everytime he asked me I kept thinking "HELL NO!!!"

Have you had a bad dating experience?

Do you drive like a guy or a girl?

Your Driving Is:

91% Male, 9% Female

According to studies, you drive like a typical male.

You're reckless, aggressive, and see driving as a game.

And while you like to live on the edge a little, you still know how to drive safely.

I always knew I wasn't a crazy woman driver!!!! LOL This test proves it! haha
Take the test and let me know if you drive like a guy or a girl!

The Beautiful Landscape of PEI

Here are just some landscape pictures that Jeremy took that I thought turned out really nice, altho there seems to be a few missing, but I'll get them from him later.

The Main Attraction.....The Tragically Hip

The Hip was good..however at that point I would have killed for a chair. My feet hurt so bad, my sunburn was annoying me, and I couldn't see for all the drunken kids! I did however meet up with Melissa and Darcy in the Beer Garden, which was packed, so how we ever found one another there, I do not know. I tried to keep my eyes open for my friend Andrew and his friends, however I never seen heads or tails of him. I don't know why there was only like 60,000 people there! The islands population doubled just in one weekend!
I came home with 5 beer tokens, which equals out to 22 dollars that I have sitting on my dresser that I wish to hell I could cash in!!!

Matt Mayes

They were awesome! I loved it...too bad Melissa wasn't there to listen to Cocaine Cowgirl LIVE, which was the last song that they sang that night! Great job! Thanks again to the photographer, Jeremy!

Sam Roberts

I think they stole the show! Sam Roberts was awesome on the stage...it could also be that number one my feet weren't sore, my sunburn wasn't that bad, and we were closer to the stage. but in any case I liked them better then the other bands.

Sand Sculptures

While in Charlottetown, there was a guy doing sand sculpting. He made a castle and a lighthouse. I thought they were pretty cool, and Jeremy (he was my photographer that weekend) snapped up some shots of the sculptures!

I present to you the Red Castle!

And the Red Lighthouse!

Canada Day Fireworks

In the News

- A guy from Montreal traded a paper clip all the way up to a farm house. How does one go about doing that? I find that interesting, maybe I need to find me a paper clip and start trading it up?!

- Gas prices have been regulated Yippee!!! But the gas stations say they are now paying too much for the gas and are not able to price the gas so that they can make a profit. Maybe the government should look at lowering the taxes they charge?? Why do they need 34% tax on gas? 90 Gas stations in New Brunswick Closed today, and will remain closed for at least 24hrs.

- The unemployment rate is down!!! I think that Calgary is helping to keep it down. Unfortunately, according to what I have read people are just moving out there to get a job, because there are jobs everywhere out there....if you don't believe me check out the job bank for Calgary, AB.

- We have lost another Canadian soldier to the war. Sad isn't it? To think Gagetown is next on the list to go, hope our boys return safely!

- Hurricanes in the Maritimes??? The weather people have stated that the Atlantic Ocean has a section that has warmer water then usual and this could cause bigger storms for Maritimers.

- A 7 year old boys foot was severed and the other mangled at a water park in Quebec. And we all thought we just had to worry about drowning at a water park! Apparently the intake pipe sucked the boys in, this just grosses me out typing it...so that's enough on that topic!

- That's all that I found interesting in the news today!

Canada Day Weekend According to Loopy

Happy Canada Day Everyone!!!!

I spent Canada Day weekend in PEI...My home away from home! I love it there, and have decided that if the chance ever came up to move there....I would be packing my bags faster then you could say "supercalafragalisticexpaladoious"!

I went over to PEI on Thursday evening. When I got to the campground I found out that we had to have a security card inorder to get into the campground. I also had to fork out 5 dollars a piece for the cards...kind of a good improvement. I finally got to see Mom and Dad's new trailer that they bought like 3 years ago! I can't believe I waited so long to get over there, and I miss it so dearly! I brought a friend of mine with me, Jeremy. He made supper while I did some unpacking and visiting with the other season lotters.

We stepped outside for a smoke and I was quickly asked by Alan (I think?) how come the campfire wasn't going. I told him I didn't know it was my job and thought that was something that him and Rob took care of. Soon thereafter there was a raging fire! And I do mean raging! The fire was burning so hot that the fire pit had a wonderful RED glow to it! I don't think I would have reached out and touched it tho! We had a few drinks and enjoyed the company of the other campers. There were jokes being told, and we got some useful information on PEI from the islanders.

Jeremy thinks that the Islanders speak with a bit of a french accent, as he says they roll their "R"s and are heavy on the "S"s...I think he was being picky for a boy from Winnipeg with a free place to stay!!! LOL

I found out that there are approximately 100,000 people who live on PEI year round. I heard once that the population of Cavendish in the winter was 11. 11 people?!?! Can you even call that a population?!?! haha

The soil in PEI (as most of you know) has a red color to it. One of my ex boyfriends used to say it was the result of a Red Food Coloring plant that exploded. I found out that he was infact wrong (like there was any doubt) and the reason the soil is read is because of the high levels of Iron in the soil.

I turned in early on Thursday night as I was exhausted from the drive (yes I know it really isn't that far..but was still tired from the drive!)

Friday, Jeremy and I headed to Charlottetown to see about getting his concert tickets and to wait for my friends to arrive on the island. We walked the streets of downtown Charlottetown looking for a belt, as I was losing my shorts! Literally! LOL It was a beautiful sunny day on
Friday and that is where I got my sunburn, silly me forgot to put sunscreen on!

My friends arrived on the island and I really never met up with them much at all...which is sad as I was. Saturday, Since Jeremy didn't know if he was ever going to be back on the east coast, he wanted to see as much of the island as he possibly could. We dedicated Saturday to driving to the North Cape to see what was up that way. It was a great drive and I really enjoyed the scenery. I have never been up that way at all, so it was quite the trip for me as well.

On the way home from our drive we stopped in the town of O'Leary for some supper/lunch. There was one lone little diner and that is where we had the best chicken wraps I have ever tasted!!! OMG they were soooooo good! A couple came in with twin baby boys, Jeremy red the news while I ate and watched the babies. I did learn at this little diner that Canada once had a Female Prime Minister....This I did not know (did any of you??) Her name was Kim Campbell. I also learned that Nova Scotia was the first province that had requested to be seperated from Canada...I was so sure it was Quebec...I'm going to have to look up more information on that! Although, it does sound a little familiar...maybe something I learned in histroy many moons ago!

When we arrived back at the campsite on Saturday, my parents rushed us to the car so that we could get to see the fireworks. After mom being all motherly, I was finally allowed to leave the trailer, she told me it would be too cold for shorts and to put on some pants and to take a sweater or coat. I thought she was just being silly...but as usual, she was right...I really should learn not to question her! I was still kinda cold at the fireworks, but it was a great show! Jeremy took some pictures of them, but he only gave me one! LOL We watched the fireworks on the lawn of a friend of the family, nice change from the normal crowd that is associated with fireworks.

Almost as soon as the fireworks were finished, the rain started pouring down on us, so we made a mad dash to the car and headed for the trailer (in a HUGE) line up. Dad was hungry so we stopped at KFC, it was shortly after 11 only to find out that they closed at 11, Dad, being dad got a little angry at this, but we headed for home to cook up some hotdogs.

Sunday, Jeremy wanted to see the beach. Too bad he hadn't of picked that as the place to go on Friday, since Sunday proved to be rainy and yucky out. He did take some beautiful pictures from our little adventures to the beaches...I even found a crab for him to take pictures of. I got my feet wet in the Atlantic Ocean, but that was about it.

I've noted that Brackley Beach has some of the biggest Misquitoes I've ever seen! Huge! We stopped the car to take a picture of the sand dunes and the misquitoes came into the car they were huge and nasty! Needless to say Jeremy gave up the picture opportunity to keep from being eaten alive! (pretty good for a guy with a bug degree don't you think?! haha)

Once back at the trailer, Jeremy packed up and got ready to head for home. I was however staying on the island until Monday.

I had a small nap after he left and got up to hang out with Joan (another season lotter), her husband and son (John..a pepsi drinker, who loves to tormet my dad).

I decided that I needed to have chicken fingers. I was craving them so bad I could taste them, so Joan went to her trailer to get the phone book and came back and called in the order from a restrauant called "Sam's". I was disappointed to open my "chicken fingers" to find "chicken nuggets" what a shame...to this day I still have not gotten my chicken fingers!

Joan is a funny lady, I enjoyed listening to her tell stories and bug my dad. Sunday night we had a huge thunder and lightening storm, so bad it shook the trailer!

Monday...I woke up to rain, so I packed the car! I messaged Melissa from my phone for a weather update, she told me it was sunny out in NB, so I figured I would head home. After brunch, dad decided to lay down for a nap and I couldn't very well leave and not say good bye to him, so I had to wait for him to wake up. By the time he got up...the sun was shinning beautifully, and I didn't want to go home!

That is how I spent Canada Day this year! I hope everyone has as good a time as I did!

Visitors from Scotland

On Wednesday evening, I had the great pleasure of hosting two of my cousins from Scotland! I was sooo glad to have them come stay with us for a few days. Both Troy and I had a blast with them.

They arrived rather late on Wednesday night, so we didn't stay up long, it was mostly nice to see you...here is where you are sleeping....I'm going to bed. I had to work Thursday Morning at 5am...so I needed my sleep as I knew a nap was not in my plans for Thursday!

Thursday...I took Steven and Claire downtown. We walked around the shops and what not. I parked in the kings place parking garage, which they have made automated. Silly me forgot the ticket in the car (actually I didn't know how it worked) so after the trip downtown we had to walk to the car and back to the mall to pay. Once this task was completed, we headed around town, it was raining and I didn't really know what else to do. We went to eat at Moma's Pub, then headed home to wake Troy up. We stopped and got a movie, as we decided to have a quiet evening at home.
Around midnight, the power went out. So we sat around in the dark for a bit (Troy had just gotten up at 11pm). We finally decided that it was time for bed. Troy headed out for a bit and the rest of us made our way to bed.

Friday...Power came back on around 8am. I can't believe it was out for so long!
Friday we were on a mission, we needed to find a shirt and an ornament. So we searched long and hard for these two items. This took most of the day on Friday. We decided that we would go bowling. Apparently they have never been small ball bowling, so this was something different for them! We bowled for about 35 mins, cuz Kingswood closes pretty early. It was great fun tho! I came in first, Claire in second, Tim came in third and Troy and Steven tied for Fourth as they like to put it...I say last...hahaha When we got home we played cards for a bit, Claire made it through two hands before deciding to go to bed. Steven, Troy and I stayed up for a bit longer and had a great laugh. Steven is getting about a zillion packs of cards from me..to practice his shuffling...tee hee hee. It was a great night!

Saturday, we went down to the market and looked around, then headed home, as I had to work at 2pm and we were a little late getting up. So Saturday was short, but still a good day!

Committees, Committees, and more Committees

At work we have many different committees that employees can join.

When I started working at UPS, I wanted to be on the ERI committee (Employee Relations Index...how we measure how well management and employees are getting along). After about a year of being there I was on this committee and I really enjoyed it. I soon became the chair person of the committee, shared with Fonda. I currently sit as the co-chair (shared with Fonda) on this committee for our group. Even tho we do not have a supervisor! LOL

Service Involvement Committee, this can be a fun committee to be on. This year we had a competition based on The Price is Right. It was a ton of fun! I get to do a presentation with Krista here in Fredericton. There are awards presented at this presenation, so maybe our team will come back with some kind of award!

Grant Committee...definitely the most rewarding committee at UPS. In my opinion anyways. I started out as the co chair and since the chair has been out on disablity, I have moved into the Chair position...I was not ready for this and am very greatful to the other members of the committee to be so supportive! This one takes up a lot of my time! The committee identifies non profit organizations that need assistance and we provide it, whether it be volunteer hours or monies. So I am constantly meeting deadlines and presenting checks. Keeps me very very busy!

JDRF Planning Committee....this committee is to help plan the JDRF walk for Fredericton. This committee also keeps me busy seeing as they made me the chair person of this committee too. It feels great to be selected to be the chair person, but holy!!! there is only one of me! The walk is at the end of May, and the planning started in March...so it's a short lived committee and also very rewarding.

So as you can see I've been very very busy with committees lately!

Mother's Day

First and foremost, Happy Mother's Day!!!

Now, Let's talk about my mothers.

My mom...Debbie...what I have learned from her could fill about a million posts on here. I couldn't have asked for a more understanding, supportive and loving mother. My mother taught me that no matter what family is most important. "Friends come and go, but family is always there", this is something I plan to pass on to my children. I'm not saying I was a poster child by any means..unless it was for one that was about what not to do...LOL Just kidding, she keeps telling me how lucky she is, to have been blessed with such wonderful and non troublesome children. If only she knew half the stories I have!!! HAHAHA. My mom is not just my mom, she's my best friend....and I wouldn't have it any other way.

My Nan, Lou...how I miss her...and wish she was still around for me to visit. My nan taught me a lot too, I grew up next door to her and spent a lot of my time over there, so much infact that she had a lellow room just for me (that's yellow just so ya know). I was the ONLY Granddaughter...and I can tell you I didn't want for much. My nan taught me the art of cooking and baking, I don't think I'll ever be as good as her, but I can't say I'm bad at it either! LOL...I remember when I was little, we used to go to bingo on Saturday nights at the Orange Lodge (back when kids could play), then we would stay the night at Aunt Gails, and head out to church on Sunday morning. That is one of my favorite nan memories, I can still remember how her car smelled, her house, and her clothing. As you can tell I miss her a lot!

My Nanny...She up'd and moved to the Miramichi on me...her and my granddad! They used to live in Fredericton, and for my first two years of university I lived with them in their home in New Maryland. I'm glad I had the opportunity to live with them, it brought me closer to them, and even though I didn't visit them much when they lived in Fredericton, I do miss knowing that they weren't that far away if I ever needed them or they needed me. But they are closer to their daughters now...as they live beside one and about 25 mins from another one. (one of those being my mom). I didn't spend much time with my Nanny, however, I did learn a few things...always make your bed in the morning (otherwise she'd mention it to you in a harsh tone when she saw you next), DON'T LEAVE DIRTY DISHES IN THE SINK!!!! (the result another harsh talk), and that people love you, so if you aren't going to be coming home, let them know so they will not worry about you.

I love all three of these women, who have taught me many things. The things they have taught me will be shared and passed on, and hopefully, when/if I have kids they will value them as much as I do.

Hugs and Kisses!!!

POF Crew - SJ Party 1

Last Saturday night, I took a drive to SJ at 11pm at night. I had to work at the video store that night and that is the reason I did not make it to the party earlier. Dawn and I made a last minute decision to go to Saint John and crash the party.

We got to the party at about 1215, and I wasn't sure how to get into the building. Dawn said go where those people are, I said I don't know any of them, she said so, they said it was upstairs. Then I seen Amie coming out, I said ohh there's Amie. I didn't even make it to the stairs before she spotted me. There was some yelling and screaming and some "it's about time you got here". Her and I talked for a min and then I went inside to see whoelse had made it to the party.

At the doorway, I met NBbruin(Randy), who I had talked to years before on Yahoo. I said hello to him and we chatted for a bit, it was great to meet him! Once I got inside I seen Krystal, who screamed and hugged me! (She says she's not a hugger!!! LOL) Then Norma spotted me and more screaming and hugging, however she mentioned something about beating me, because I told her just before she left for SJ that I definitely was not going, and then I showed up anyways. I seen Skibunny(Celeste), who told me she wasn't going. She was standing beside SpiderJ(Jay), who had his back to me. When Jay finally decided to turn around, he screamed some form of Loopy at me and then hugged and danced me around in a circle! How fun is that?!?!? I seen Exsensual there, who very quickly asked me where my bells were...apprantly I'm not allowed to attend another POF party with out my bells. lol

I went down to see who else was around, at the end of the bar I seen Oddlyhappy(Stephen) and Legaldrugsfromme(Michelle). They looked at me like 4 times before Stephen said "Hey Look...It's Loopy"! So up until this point I'm having a blast! Then I was standing talking to Steph, when Michelle and Stephen came up and tried to lick my face, which is just disgusting! They got my arm but not my face..in the process they made me mad. I put it behind me because they were really drunk (NOT an exucse but a reason). I told them not to lick me again. They said ok...not that I believed them.

I went outside at one point and Stephen and Michelle came out shortly after I came out. Michelle came over as if she was going to hug me and I said "Don't lick me", she said "I'm not going to" I said "ok" She did just hug me, no licking involved, however, she whispered in her ear that Stephen told her. I said told you what. She said you know what. I said ohh. She said I'm ok with it though because you are such a sweet person. I said No, you should be ok with it because it happened before he met you. She said ohh yeah and that. This ticked me off even more. At this point I was already ready to take scissors to their tongues and then she went and put me in an awkward situation. Needless to say I was NOT impressed. I have talked to both Stephen and Michelle and both understand how I felt.

After the party at the bar, we headed to the hotel for a snack. Dawn and I were going to be heading back to Fredericton that night/morning and didn't want to do that on empty stomachs! The food was ok and the party all in all was great!

The POF Crew - Freddy Party 1

As some of you know, I have expanded my social circle.

I belong to a site that is made for people looking to date, make new friends, find people to hang out with and stuff like that, I have been on this site for about a year, but just recently got into the forums and started chatting with people from all over New Brunswick.

I think it's a pretty good site, my favorite thing about it is that it's free..this of course is besides the fact that I have made new friends on there.

I went to the first POF meet/party, in March. It was a small gathering, maybe like 30 people.
While this being planned, I was very up in the air about going, I was then I wasn't then I was...I just wasn't sure I wanted to go meet a bunch of new people. I talked Dawn into coming with me. I posted that I was shy and that I wasn't sure if I could go. NB Native (Norma) told me that I would be there with bells on..and to meet her outside of Dooley's so she could attach the bells. That is when I decided for sure that I was going.....with bells on...literally. I actually went to the dollar store and bought ribbon and bells and attached them to my belt. LOL

We met at Dooley's on a Friday and then went down to the 20/20 club afterwards. I was working at my new job (it was actually my first day there) and I met everyone at Dooley's almost just in time to go to the 20/20, so I missed quite a bit of the meeting part. I walked into Dooley's and didn't recognize anyone, but had to pee really really bad!!!! So I went to the bathroom first off, then when I came back out, I recognized Kymbie (Kim), so I went over and said, "this must be the shy corner" (Because her and I had joked about sitting in the shy corner). She laughed and said you have to be Loopy....I said yes. I talked to her for a few mins and introduced her to Dawn, then I turned around and seen Norma...so I went up to her and talked to her for a min, she didn't recognize me until she seen the bells, then she started laughing and said OMG I can't believe you actually wore them, that is soo cool!

Dawn had pointed out a guy in the room, being one who she talked to, Fauz(Kevin). Kevin came over (and got into my personal space, for those that know me I'm big on my personal space..LOL) and told me that I couldn't be shy cuz I actually wore the bells! Which is not something a shy person would do, I laughed and told him he caught me!

I met quite a few people that night, I don't remember many of the ones I met at the 20/20, or rather how I met them, but I can tell you who I met Cav (don't know real name), Sweetandpassionate (Krystal), Shewolf (Sheila) and Stephy (Steph).

Later on in the week following the party, Krystal and I learned that we lived across the backyard from one another! We have been friends since then, I spend a lot of time in the "corner" of her living room! ha-ha.
