Changes to the livingroom

Here are some pictures of our living room now. Jeremy and I decided that we had too much stuff in the livingroom and it looked cluttered so we went to Ikea and bought a new shelf. Since it was so big (the new shelf) we had to get rid of some of the stuff in the livingroom. We got rid of the entertainment stand, the book shelf, and the crappy chair. We put the new shelf on the wall where the couch was, and put the couch in front of the window where the entertainment stand used to be, we brought down one of the coffee tables we had upstairs and put the TV on it in the corner next to the new shelf. I, of course have some changes to make to the shelf to space things out better, but for now this is what it looks like. We've been looking at shelves like this for some time now...and yesterday they had one in the "As-Is" section at Ikea...it has a few scratches on it but we just put that side to the wall...and I think it works perfectly in the livingroom. Although, when we went shopping yesterday it was for stuff for the yard, some stepping stones, new garden tools, maybe some plants...and this is what we came home with! lol Ahh well, finally we got the shelf that we wanted.

Ok, so we haven't found a spot for everything yet....lol but we are working on it! The coffee table looks a little cluttered...but remember Jeremy was painting too...so that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Brooke watching Daddy paint the door frame!

This is Jeremy hard at work putting the second coat of paint on the door frame. He's such a hard worker, when he puts his mind to it! lol

Brooke's New Toy!!

I went shopping the other day and finally spent some of the money Mammy gave Brooke. Mammy left instructions to get a playpen, a thing for the side of her crib or a Rocking Chair. I finally found the side of the crib mobile that I liked. Although, I am pretty sure that Brooke is going to LOVE fish...lol Her swing, bouncy chair and now crib toy all have fish!!! lol I personally don't care for fish! Their tanks stink, and are a pain to clean, but Jer wants fish...lol I keep telling him that they will die while he is gone. But some day, I have a feeling that I'm going to have these gorgeous blue eyes looking at me while the voice is saying "Mommy, can I have a fishy?" And when that day comes, I will likely just have to give in...at least eventually, once I have her and Jer both asking for fishies! ugh!

So Mammy, here is the side crib mobile thing that you got for Brooke! I hope it's what you had in mind when you suggested it.

It lights up, plays music, and the fish moves and the plants move and there are bubbles. It's quite the little toy! It plays for 10 mins...which is nice, and it has a remote control. And best of all, Brooke loves it! lol She enjoys talking to the fishies. However, once she has had enough, she's had enough, but sometimes I have to make it play twice...so that's 20 mins it keeps her occupied for! lol

And a picture of how everything fits into her crib.

Brooke Holding her first toy!

Ok so I might have helped her get it into her hand....but she held on to it for quite awhile!

First Propped up picture

Here is a picture of her propped up on the couch....taken the same day she was crabby...just happened to catch her in a not so crabby mood. lol

Why There has been no pictures of Brooke lately

I haven't taken many pictures of Brooke lately because she's been a bit crabby! So, I took a picture to prove it...because some people don't seem to believe that she can be crabby...lol I tell you live with her and you would have a good idea of how crabby she can be!

Look a Pretty Flower

On Saturday, Jeremy picked a flower from the yard and brought it in to me. I thought it would be a great opportunity to get some pictures of Brooke holding her first flower. Thank goodness she's not at an age where she eats everything she has in her hand! lol

Finally...All About Brooke

I love this picture, I'm not sure exactly why...she kind of looks like she's trying to tell you something in this one. I just think it's too cute!

So the bright idea behind this picture was to indicate how much she grows each month. I'll take her picture with Tucker...I mean he's massive, so it should really show how big she is getting...however, Tucker was cooperating, but Brooke...wasn't a happy camper! lol I'll try again to get a picture of the two of them...I'd like to have one for her baby book for her 2 month picture.

Trying to catch another smile...I'm so close I can feel it! haha!

A sleeping Brooke...I thought this was cute because it looks like she's holding her head up with her hand! Too Cute!

Tummy Time!!!! She's getting good at holding her head up, she isn't so bobbly any more.

"Hi Everyone!" that's what she's saying here! lol Don't her eyes look so bright in this one! She's too cute really!

I was trying to catch a smile! This is the closest I came to actually catching it! lol At least she looks happy in this picture...not quite so serious. Did you know it's hard to catch a baby smiling on camera?! I thought it would be so easy! HAHA Joke was on me!

Brooke wearing something other then pink or purple...I think it's one of the only outfits I have for her that isn't pink, purple or white. I got this one at a yard sale...It's nice and light...will be a good outfit as it's been hot during the day lately.

This is what Brooke likes to do these days. She likes to stand on her own feet. She doesn't like laying or sitting for very long. I tell you my arms get a little sore from helping her stand.

This is what Brooke was doing as I was running around the house taking all the house pictures. As you can tell she was a huge help! At least she slept the whole time so that I could get the pictures taken!

That's one of her bouncy/vibrating chairs...She likes this one...it has an attachment that has fishies and plays music and it blows bubbles in the water with the fishies!

She's so serious sometimes it makes me laugh. This was her put the damn camera away and pick me up look...lol I captured it between cries!

She had just finished a cry .... well not quite...when I took this picture.

The Yard

As some of you know, I've been working very hard on trying to get some of the grass beds turned back into flower beds. I took some pictures of the yard so that you would have an idea of what I am doing....and what I have to work with!

This is the back yard, the picture is taken from the deck. That grey bunch of bricks towards the tree line...is a fire pit. A lot of places out here have fire pits! Imagine, I have roast marshmellows whenever I want to! lol Those bushy trees in the back are apparently lilacs...we'll see if they are or not! lol Excuse the mess, Tucker thinks he owns the back yard and anything on the ground is his! lol
Tucker doesn't miss too many photo ops...lol This was at one time a flower garden...I think. It has rocks around it...so I assume there might have been flowers in there at one time. Right now Tucker thinks it's a great place to dig...I just wish he would dig the grass! LOL

This garden runs the side of the garage. As you can see there are things in there that isn't grass, but there is a lot of dead leaves and grass in there...I'll work on that one someday! lol

This is the portion of the above garden that is at the back end of the garage. See what I have to deal with?!?!?!

This is the garden I've been working on...altho, this part looks good...I've done this part! lol This garden is located between the white picket fence and the cedar fence, if you refer to my previous post and the front of the house picture.

This is the other end of the above garden. As you can tell it still needs more work. lol Altho, it looks 100 times better then it did when I started! And since I took this picture, I have taken all those rocks out, previous owners were trying to create a walk way to the porch, I want to get some patio stones, or something to put there rather then the rocks.

This is the other garden at the front of the house between the white and cedar fences. I'm really not sure what to do with this one! There are things growing in there, but there is an aweful lot of grass in there too. Maybe it would be a good place for the strawberries?! I can just dig everything else up...that might work...any suggestions?

Long awaited House Blog

This blog is all about our house. It's a great little house, so I'm going to try to give you the best tour I can. I was going to video it...but really I didn't want to...lol
The front of our house...please note the white picket fence!!! It's perfect don't you think?!
When you enter the back of the house, this is what you see. The Back entry way...which Jeremy painted grey with dark brown trim...it actually doesn't look too bad, however it was supposed to be a light brown with dark brown trim! lol
This is looking the other way into the back entry. That cupboard that Wink is sitting on is actually where I keep my linen. It's not nearly big enough, but we make do with what we have and someday I'll have the cabinet there that I want.

This is the bathroom, which is off of the back entry, it's to the left if you are standing in the back door.

This is the kitchen which is straight from the back entryway. This picture was taken from the back entry.
This picture is of the kitchen again, looking kind of towards the back entryway. It shows a wall that we are in the process of trying to figure out what to do with! lol

This is again the kitchen...but I was standing in the livingroom doorway to take this picture. It also shows the stairs. That door that's open is to go down to the basement...there are no pictures of that as it's ugly and not worth writing home about! lolThis is the living room from the kitchen...the living room is on the left from the kitchen if you are looking at the fridge.

This is the other half of the living room looking from the kitchen.

The living room looking towards the kitchen.

Up the stairs to the bedrooms. This is taken from the top of the stairs.

Our bedroom from the doorway to Brooke's room.

Brooke's room from the doorway to our room.

Brooke's room from the crib.

The back of the house.

I almost forgot my favourite part!!! The porch swing!!!!
