Canada Day Fireworks

In the News

- A guy from Montreal traded a paper clip all the way up to a farm house. How does one go about doing that? I find that interesting, maybe I need to find me a paper clip and start trading it up?!

- Gas prices have been regulated Yippee!!! But the gas stations say they are now paying too much for the gas and are not able to price the gas so that they can make a profit. Maybe the government should look at lowering the taxes they charge?? Why do they need 34% tax on gas? 90 Gas stations in New Brunswick Closed today, and will remain closed for at least 24hrs.

- The unemployment rate is down!!! I think that Calgary is helping to keep it down. Unfortunately, according to what I have read people are just moving out there to get a job, because there are jobs everywhere out there....if you don't believe me check out the job bank for Calgary, AB.

- We have lost another Canadian soldier to the war. Sad isn't it? To think Gagetown is next on the list to go, hope our boys return safely!

- Hurricanes in the Maritimes??? The weather people have stated that the Atlantic Ocean has a section that has warmer water then usual and this could cause bigger storms for Maritimers.

- A 7 year old boys foot was severed and the other mangled at a water park in Quebec. And we all thought we just had to worry about drowning at a water park! Apparently the intake pipe sucked the boys in, this just grosses me out typing it...so that's enough on that topic!

- That's all that I found interesting in the news today!

Canada Day Weekend According to Loopy

Happy Canada Day Everyone!!!!

I spent Canada Day weekend in PEI...My home away from home! I love it there, and have decided that if the chance ever came up to move there....I would be packing my bags faster then you could say "supercalafragalisticexpaladoious"!

I went over to PEI on Thursday evening. When I got to the campground I found out that we had to have a security card inorder to get into the campground. I also had to fork out 5 dollars a piece for the cards...kind of a good improvement. I finally got to see Mom and Dad's new trailer that they bought like 3 years ago! I can't believe I waited so long to get over there, and I miss it so dearly! I brought a friend of mine with me, Jeremy. He made supper while I did some unpacking and visiting with the other season lotters.

We stepped outside for a smoke and I was quickly asked by Alan (I think?) how come the campfire wasn't going. I told him I didn't know it was my job and thought that was something that him and Rob took care of. Soon thereafter there was a raging fire! And I do mean raging! The fire was burning so hot that the fire pit had a wonderful RED glow to it! I don't think I would have reached out and touched it tho! We had a few drinks and enjoyed the company of the other campers. There were jokes being told, and we got some useful information on PEI from the islanders.

Jeremy thinks that the Islanders speak with a bit of a french accent, as he says they roll their "R"s and are heavy on the "S"s...I think he was being picky for a boy from Winnipeg with a free place to stay!!! LOL

I found out that there are approximately 100,000 people who live on PEI year round. I heard once that the population of Cavendish in the winter was 11. 11 people?!?! Can you even call that a population?!?! haha

The soil in PEI (as most of you know) has a red color to it. One of my ex boyfriends used to say it was the result of a Red Food Coloring plant that exploded. I found out that he was infact wrong (like there was any doubt) and the reason the soil is read is because of the high levels of Iron in the soil.

I turned in early on Thursday night as I was exhausted from the drive (yes I know it really isn't that far..but was still tired from the drive!)

Friday, Jeremy and I headed to Charlottetown to see about getting his concert tickets and to wait for my friends to arrive on the island. We walked the streets of downtown Charlottetown looking for a belt, as I was losing my shorts! Literally! LOL It was a beautiful sunny day on
Friday and that is where I got my sunburn, silly me forgot to put sunscreen on!

My friends arrived on the island and I really never met up with them much at all...which is sad as I was. Saturday, Since Jeremy didn't know if he was ever going to be back on the east coast, he wanted to see as much of the island as he possibly could. We dedicated Saturday to driving to the North Cape to see what was up that way. It was a great drive and I really enjoyed the scenery. I have never been up that way at all, so it was quite the trip for me as well.

On the way home from our drive we stopped in the town of O'Leary for some supper/lunch. There was one lone little diner and that is where we had the best chicken wraps I have ever tasted!!! OMG they were soooooo good! A couple came in with twin baby boys, Jeremy red the news while I ate and watched the babies. I did learn at this little diner that Canada once had a Female Prime Minister....This I did not know (did any of you??) Her name was Kim Campbell. I also learned that Nova Scotia was the first province that had requested to be seperated from Canada...I was so sure it was Quebec...I'm going to have to look up more information on that! Although, it does sound a little familiar...maybe something I learned in histroy many moons ago!

When we arrived back at the campsite on Saturday, my parents rushed us to the car so that we could get to see the fireworks. After mom being all motherly, I was finally allowed to leave the trailer, she told me it would be too cold for shorts and to put on some pants and to take a sweater or coat. I thought she was just being silly...but as usual, she was right...I really should learn not to question her! I was still kinda cold at the fireworks, but it was a great show! Jeremy took some pictures of them, but he only gave me one! LOL We watched the fireworks on the lawn of a friend of the family, nice change from the normal crowd that is associated with fireworks.

Almost as soon as the fireworks were finished, the rain started pouring down on us, so we made a mad dash to the car and headed for the trailer (in a HUGE) line up. Dad was hungry so we stopped at KFC, it was shortly after 11 only to find out that they closed at 11, Dad, being dad got a little angry at this, but we headed for home to cook up some hotdogs.

Sunday, Jeremy wanted to see the beach. Too bad he hadn't of picked that as the place to go on Friday, since Sunday proved to be rainy and yucky out. He did take some beautiful pictures from our little adventures to the beaches...I even found a crab for him to take pictures of. I got my feet wet in the Atlantic Ocean, but that was about it.

I've noted that Brackley Beach has some of the biggest Misquitoes I've ever seen! Huge! We stopped the car to take a picture of the sand dunes and the misquitoes came into the car they were huge and nasty! Needless to say Jeremy gave up the picture opportunity to keep from being eaten alive! (pretty good for a guy with a bug degree don't you think?! haha)

Once back at the trailer, Jeremy packed up and got ready to head for home. I was however staying on the island until Monday.

I had a small nap after he left and got up to hang out with Joan (another season lotter), her husband and son (John..a pepsi drinker, who loves to tormet my dad).

I decided that I needed to have chicken fingers. I was craving them so bad I could taste them, so Joan went to her trailer to get the phone book and came back and called in the order from a restrauant called "Sam's". I was disappointed to open my "chicken fingers" to find "chicken nuggets" what a shame...to this day I still have not gotten my chicken fingers!

Joan is a funny lady, I enjoyed listening to her tell stories and bug my dad. Sunday night we had a huge thunder and lightening storm, so bad it shook the trailer!

Monday...I woke up to rain, so I packed the car! I messaged Melissa from my phone for a weather update, she told me it was sunny out in NB, so I figured I would head home. After brunch, dad decided to lay down for a nap and I couldn't very well leave and not say good bye to him, so I had to wait for him to wake up. By the time he got up...the sun was shinning beautifully, and I didn't want to go home!

That is how I spent Canada Day this year! I hope everyone has as good a time as I did!

Visitors from Scotland

On Wednesday evening, I had the great pleasure of hosting two of my cousins from Scotland! I was sooo glad to have them come stay with us for a few days. Both Troy and I had a blast with them.

They arrived rather late on Wednesday night, so we didn't stay up long, it was mostly nice to see you...here is where you are sleeping....I'm going to bed. I had to work Thursday Morning at 5am...so I needed my sleep as I knew a nap was not in my plans for Thursday!

Thursday...I took Steven and Claire downtown. We walked around the shops and what not. I parked in the kings place parking garage, which they have made automated. Silly me forgot the ticket in the car (actually I didn't know how it worked) so after the trip downtown we had to walk to the car and back to the mall to pay. Once this task was completed, we headed around town, it was raining and I didn't really know what else to do. We went to eat at Moma's Pub, then headed home to wake Troy up. We stopped and got a movie, as we decided to have a quiet evening at home.
Around midnight, the power went out. So we sat around in the dark for a bit (Troy had just gotten up at 11pm). We finally decided that it was time for bed. Troy headed out for a bit and the rest of us made our way to bed.

Friday...Power came back on around 8am. I can't believe it was out for so long!
Friday we were on a mission, we needed to find a shirt and an ornament. So we searched long and hard for these two items. This took most of the day on Friday. We decided that we would go bowling. Apparently they have never been small ball bowling, so this was something different for them! We bowled for about 35 mins, cuz Kingswood closes pretty early. It was great fun tho! I came in first, Claire in second, Tim came in third and Troy and Steven tied for Fourth as they like to put it...I say last...hahaha When we got home we played cards for a bit, Claire made it through two hands before deciding to go to bed. Steven, Troy and I stayed up for a bit longer and had a great laugh. Steven is getting about a zillion packs of cards from me..to practice his shuffling...tee hee hee. It was a great night!

Saturday, we went down to the market and looked around, then headed home, as I had to work at 2pm and we were a little late getting up. So Saturday was short, but still a good day!

Committees, Committees, and more Committees

At work we have many different committees that employees can join.

When I started working at UPS, I wanted to be on the ERI committee (Employee Relations Index...how we measure how well management and employees are getting along). After about a year of being there I was on this committee and I really enjoyed it. I soon became the chair person of the committee, shared with Fonda. I currently sit as the co-chair (shared with Fonda) on this committee for our group. Even tho we do not have a supervisor! LOL

Service Involvement Committee, this can be a fun committee to be on. This year we had a competition based on The Price is Right. It was a ton of fun! I get to do a presentation with Krista here in Fredericton. There are awards presented at this presenation, so maybe our team will come back with some kind of award!

Grant Committee...definitely the most rewarding committee at UPS. In my opinion anyways. I started out as the co chair and since the chair has been out on disablity, I have moved into the Chair position...I was not ready for this and am very greatful to the other members of the committee to be so supportive! This one takes up a lot of my time! The committee identifies non profit organizations that need assistance and we provide it, whether it be volunteer hours or monies. So I am constantly meeting deadlines and presenting checks. Keeps me very very busy!

JDRF Planning Committee....this committee is to help plan the JDRF walk for Fredericton. This committee also keeps me busy seeing as they made me the chair person of this committee too. It feels great to be selected to be the chair person, but holy!!! there is only one of me! The walk is at the end of May, and the planning started in March...so it's a short lived committee and also very rewarding.

So as you can see I've been very very busy with committees lately!

Mother's Day

First and foremost, Happy Mother's Day!!!

Now, Let's talk about my mothers.

My mom...Debbie...what I have learned from her could fill about a million posts on here. I couldn't have asked for a more understanding, supportive and loving mother. My mother taught me that no matter what family is most important. "Friends come and go, but family is always there", this is something I plan to pass on to my children. I'm not saying I was a poster child by any means..unless it was for one that was about what not to do...LOL Just kidding, she keeps telling me how lucky she is, to have been blessed with such wonderful and non troublesome children. If only she knew half the stories I have!!! HAHAHA. My mom is not just my mom, she's my best friend....and I wouldn't have it any other way.

My Nan, Lou...how I miss her...and wish she was still around for me to visit. My nan taught me a lot too, I grew up next door to her and spent a lot of my time over there, so much infact that she had a lellow room just for me (that's yellow just so ya know). I was the ONLY Granddaughter...and I can tell you I didn't want for much. My nan taught me the art of cooking and baking, I don't think I'll ever be as good as her, but I can't say I'm bad at it either! LOL...I remember when I was little, we used to go to bingo on Saturday nights at the Orange Lodge (back when kids could play), then we would stay the night at Aunt Gails, and head out to church on Sunday morning. That is one of my favorite nan memories, I can still remember how her car smelled, her house, and her clothing. As you can tell I miss her a lot!

My Nanny...She up'd and moved to the Miramichi on me...her and my granddad! They used to live in Fredericton, and for my first two years of university I lived with them in their home in New Maryland. I'm glad I had the opportunity to live with them, it brought me closer to them, and even though I didn't visit them much when they lived in Fredericton, I do miss knowing that they weren't that far away if I ever needed them or they needed me. But they are closer to their daughters now...as they live beside one and about 25 mins from another one. (one of those being my mom). I didn't spend much time with my Nanny, however, I did learn a few things...always make your bed in the morning (otherwise she'd mention it to you in a harsh tone when she saw you next), DON'T LEAVE DIRTY DISHES IN THE SINK!!!! (the result another harsh talk), and that people love you, so if you aren't going to be coming home, let them know so they will not worry about you.

I love all three of these women, who have taught me many things. The things they have taught me will be shared and passed on, and hopefully, when/if I have kids they will value them as much as I do.

Hugs and Kisses!!!

POF Crew - SJ Party 1

Last Saturday night, I took a drive to SJ at 11pm at night. I had to work at the video store that night and that is the reason I did not make it to the party earlier. Dawn and I made a last minute decision to go to Saint John and crash the party.

We got to the party at about 1215, and I wasn't sure how to get into the building. Dawn said go where those people are, I said I don't know any of them, she said so, they said it was upstairs. Then I seen Amie coming out, I said ohh there's Amie. I didn't even make it to the stairs before she spotted me. There was some yelling and screaming and some "it's about time you got here". Her and I talked for a min and then I went inside to see whoelse had made it to the party.

At the doorway, I met NBbruin(Randy), who I had talked to years before on Yahoo. I said hello to him and we chatted for a bit, it was great to meet him! Once I got inside I seen Krystal, who screamed and hugged me! (She says she's not a hugger!!! LOL) Then Norma spotted me and more screaming and hugging, however she mentioned something about beating me, because I told her just before she left for SJ that I definitely was not going, and then I showed up anyways. I seen Skibunny(Celeste), who told me she wasn't going. She was standing beside SpiderJ(Jay), who had his back to me. When Jay finally decided to turn around, he screamed some form of Loopy at me and then hugged and danced me around in a circle! How fun is that?!?!? I seen Exsensual there, who very quickly asked me where my bells were...apprantly I'm not allowed to attend another POF party with out my bells. lol

I went down to see who else was around, at the end of the bar I seen Oddlyhappy(Stephen) and Legaldrugsfromme(Michelle). They looked at me like 4 times before Stephen said "Hey Look...It's Loopy"! So up until this point I'm having a blast! Then I was standing talking to Steph, when Michelle and Stephen came up and tried to lick my face, which is just disgusting! They got my arm but not my face..in the process they made me mad. I put it behind me because they were really drunk (NOT an exucse but a reason). I told them not to lick me again. They said ok...not that I believed them.

I went outside at one point and Stephen and Michelle came out shortly after I came out. Michelle came over as if she was going to hug me and I said "Don't lick me", she said "I'm not going to" I said "ok" She did just hug me, no licking involved, however, she whispered in her ear that Stephen told her. I said told you what. She said you know what. I said ohh. She said I'm ok with it though because you are such a sweet person. I said No, you should be ok with it because it happened before he met you. She said ohh yeah and that. This ticked me off even more. At this point I was already ready to take scissors to their tongues and then she went and put me in an awkward situation. Needless to say I was NOT impressed. I have talked to both Stephen and Michelle and both understand how I felt.

After the party at the bar, we headed to the hotel for a snack. Dawn and I were going to be heading back to Fredericton that night/morning and didn't want to do that on empty stomachs! The food was ok and the party all in all was great!

The POF Crew - Freddy Party 1

As some of you know, I have expanded my social circle.

I belong to a site that is made for people looking to date, make new friends, find people to hang out with and stuff like that, I have been on this site for about a year, but just recently got into the forums and started chatting with people from all over New Brunswick.

I think it's a pretty good site, my favorite thing about it is that it's free..this of course is besides the fact that I have made new friends on there.

I went to the first POF meet/party, in March. It was a small gathering, maybe like 30 people.
While this being planned, I was very up in the air about going, I was then I wasn't then I was...I just wasn't sure I wanted to go meet a bunch of new people. I talked Dawn into coming with me. I posted that I was shy and that I wasn't sure if I could go. NB Native (Norma) told me that I would be there with bells on..and to meet her outside of Dooley's so she could attach the bells. That is when I decided for sure that I was going.....with bells on...literally. I actually went to the dollar store and bought ribbon and bells and attached them to my belt. LOL

We met at Dooley's on a Friday and then went down to the 20/20 club afterwards. I was working at my new job (it was actually my first day there) and I met everyone at Dooley's almost just in time to go to the 20/20, so I missed quite a bit of the meeting part. I walked into Dooley's and didn't recognize anyone, but had to pee really really bad!!!! So I went to the bathroom first off, then when I came back out, I recognized Kymbie (Kim), so I went over and said, "this must be the shy corner" (Because her and I had joked about sitting in the shy corner). She laughed and said you have to be Loopy....I said yes. I talked to her for a few mins and introduced her to Dawn, then I turned around and seen Norma...so I went up to her and talked to her for a min, she didn't recognize me until she seen the bells, then she started laughing and said OMG I can't believe you actually wore them, that is soo cool!

Dawn had pointed out a guy in the room, being one who she talked to, Fauz(Kevin). Kevin came over (and got into my personal space, for those that know me I'm big on my personal space..LOL) and told me that I couldn't be shy cuz I actually wore the bells! Which is not something a shy person would do, I laughed and told him he caught me!

I met quite a few people that night, I don't remember many of the ones I met at the 20/20, or rather how I met them, but I can tell you who I met Cav (don't know real name), Sweetandpassionate (Krystal), Shewolf (Sheila) and Stephy (Steph).

Later on in the week following the party, Krystal and I learned that we lived across the backyard from one another! We have been friends since then, I spend a lot of time in the "corner" of her living room! ha-ha.

An Update

I know you all think I have been busy with my many "boys", but a last I have not. I still haven't met the Miramichi/Newfie boy, he's a reporter with the paper, so he's quite busy or so it seems, then again maybe I am making exucses for him, the jury is still out on that one!

I haven't heard from the PEI guy since last weekend. I know he was going to PEI for the Easter Weekend, not sure when he is getting back, and he left the ball in my court asking me to call him, not sure if I'm going too.

The other guy and I have decided to be just friends. Which works out fine for me. So see, my list went from 3 to 0 in like almost a month and well most of them have been off my list for long before then!

In other news! I've gone and gotten myself a second job. I know, as if I wasn't busy enough with all the committees and volunteer work, I had to go add something else to my schedule! I work part time (mostly all weekends...OK ALL WEEKENDS) at a new Video Store that just opened in on the Northside. It's really rather cool how it works, and it's the first 24 HR video store in Fredericton. My boss's Doug (owner) and TJ (supervisor) are awesome men! TJ is pretty easy to get along with when I have days I need off or if I need to work around something. Works out great for me! Doug is pretty easy going too...altho sometimes I think he is a little too excited about the Adult Movies that he put into the machine. LOL. (yeah, I don't acutally have to handle the movies, they all come out of this machine). My reason for taking on another job is that I wanted some extra money for my trip to Scotland..I wanted to be sure that I had all my bills paid off and I had the money saved to go! So Jean if you are reading this!!! I'm really coming!!! Cuz heaven knows I'm not playing myself out for fun!!! LOL Well I am kinda!!! In the long run there will be fun!

I think that is all my updates! If I think of something else I will just have to post again! I'm gonna try to get better at posting...Ohhh yeah and I'm going to see INXS on May 7th, so if nothing else, I will be posting around that time..with the pictures and stuff!

Rains it Pours! Feast or Famon!

I go through months of not meeting any one new, of not dating, nothing...then out of the blue a guy comes a long that peaks my interest...not long after that there is another guy and sometimes another one after that..LOL

Boy Number 1 - Last Saturday night I went out to the bar with Dawn as we normally do on the weekends. I was having a good time dancing and stuff and then I see a guy that I had danced with a few weeks ago. I wasn't really interested in the guy but felt bad saying no to him so I went. The guy followed me around the bar. I immediately went searching for my friend Darren to save me! LOL I found Darren and he did save me! whew! Then I seen that guy hitting on another girl so I was relieved that he would be leaving me alone. Dawn and I headed to the dance floor. That guy was there but I just kinda ignored it until Dawn said he was left alone on the dance floor. I got scared..but he didn't approach me. At the end of the night, Dawn and I were doing our normal end of the night watching people dance to the slow songs because they are so drunk... we were laughing and carrying on...and then I seen that guy walk by past me. Dawn was facing in his direction she told me that he had stopped and that he was turning around..then I felt tap tap tap on my shoulder. The look of TERROR on my face must have been priceless. I could tell by the look on Dawn's face that it was not the guy that had followed me. I turned around to find a rather handsome Army Guy (yes I know...shhh lol) Chris asked me to dance and we talked a bit while we were dancing and then he asked me to go get something to eat with him and his "buddy" (everyone in the military are buddies)Dawn and I head out to the Diplomat for lunch with the boys. It must of went well because the guy asked for my phone number and I gave it to him and he called on Sunday. We got together for coffee on Sunday afternoon and watched a movie at my place that evening. He called me Monday night, Tuesday night and left for PEI on Thursday night. I guess we'll see if he remembers who I am on Monday when he returns to Fredericton. LOL

Boy Number 2 - Friday or Saturday I started talking to a guy I have talked to online several times before, it was always a good conversation, but we have never asked to meet one another. This guy is living in Miramichi, but grew up in Newfoundland (for some reason, I find newfies sexy) On Saturday, he mentioned that he would be coming to Fredericton on Sunday and wanted to know if I wanted to meet him. I thought he was joking at first so I had a smartass response for him and he said rather disappointedly I guess not. I explained that I thought he had been joking, but that I would get together with him for coffee. Sunday came and he didn't come, but he did email me to tell me he got called into work and that is why he didn't come over. We have been chatting ever since.

Boy Number 3 - funny story. I have my picture in my profile in Yahoo, where I go by the name of loopyinfreddybeach, and I have a profile on a personals site that also has my picture. Last Friday night I went out and this guy came up to me and asked if I was loopy. at first I was gonna say something smartassed, but then decided against it. come to find out he recognized my picture from my profile on the personal site. He seems like a nice guy but we have determind that friends is where we are to stay...tho we did have a good time dancing and stuff that night.

so yeah fest or famon!!!

Great Big Sea ROCKS!!!!!

As some of you know, I'm a huge GBS fan! I have been since the first time I seen them on the ECMA's. I've been to 4 concerts now and I have to say that they get better and better each and everytime I see them!!

I love these Newfie Boys! Tuesday night they rocked the Playhouse in Fredericton!
I originally thought...GBS at the playhouse? There is no place to dance or jump around, that isn't going to be very fun. However, I was proven soooo wrong! The acoustics were better, the show was more intimate/personal, and the boyz were really into the concert!

I've known I was going for a long time, however, I kinda forgot about it for a bit but was quickly reminded about it! I wasn't near as pumped up for the concert as I have been in the past..could have something to do with seeing them 4 times, but I was sooo pumped up afterwards!

I couldn't wait we had sixth row tickets and once we got there I was sooo excited to see them I don't think I stopped clapping and dancing since they strummed the first note!

There was a big debate on whether or not to take our cameras, I decided to just take mine anyways and I'm so glad I did..I got some awesome shots of the boyz, as you can see!

Alan and Sean were on a comedic rampage that night. It's been a long time since I have laughed that hard. Just remember "It's all about the proper use of utensils". They were getting ready to introduce a song to the crowd. Sean said "this is a song about a guy who is out wandering the streets after dark and is in kinda a depressed mood, when he looks up and sees the silouette of a woman in a window." then he takes a breath and says now folks he has the best of intension, I don't want you to get the wrong idea about him, he's really a good guy. He just wants to.......spoon on the couch.....and .... umm....watch Law and Order." As Alan starts to play the music from Law and Order on his guitar and the crowd busts up laughing. Later on this joke was brought up again "spoonin on the couch" Alan says "As opposed to....." Sean says "forking" again more laughter from the audience. Sean says "It's all about the type of utensil you are in the mood for" Song name "I'm a Rover"

They were introducing the song called "Charlie Horse". Alan says, "This is a song about a horse that fell through the ice. I'm not sure if you have had this problem in New Brunswick, but in NFLD it seems to have been quite a common occurance. At least there is a lot of songs about it anyway! Now I'm probably boring you with details here, but I want to explain something so that you don't get confused when you hear the song. Charlie is the name of the horse and Shave is a dude. So when I sing" as he strums the guitar and sings "Here's to Charlie Horse, here's to Shave the Master" I'm talking about a dude not" then he motions as if he's shaving his face and then his legs. Sean steps up and says "What if they had called him Wax?" Alan says "ohh that would hurt..but what type of wax? there are lots of different types" Sean says "I dunno, bikini, brazilian...Either one is good by me" More laughter. Alan starts to play the song then stops and says "I wonder what they would call it in Brazil?" He starts laughing and then starts right into the song.

Sean and Alan told one of the ushers to let us dance, as one of the ushers kept coming down and cleaning out the aisle. The Boyz said "These people paid to dance let them dance" It was awesome that they did that as I think everyone was a bit uncomfortable dancing in the playhouse...not that it stopped most of us!

For the last Encore they came out and sang "Old Brown's Daughter" without instruments, and without mics. It was amazing!

On My Vacation

I realize that my vacation has been over for well...a week! LOL But I thought that I would update you on all the happenings!

My Wednesday meeting a client went really well. He was impressed with the tour saying it gives him a better appreciation of me and my job. (wish there were more out there like that! LOL) He took me out for lunch...well really I picked the place and he paid. Jen suggested the pasta buffet at the Delta. Which was a good idea, however Chris showed up with jeans and a knit wool sweater, so I thought maybe the Delta wasn't the best idea and settled for the Hilltop. I really enjoyed my food, the conversation and company.

Thursday I went home to mom and dads and for the first time I stepped inside the Doaktown Tim Hortons. It still amazes me that there is a Tim Hortons there! LOL And to top it all off I won a Donut on my Roll up the rim!!! LOL

Friday I headed home and out to the clubs that evening. I had a good time as I always do.

Saturday I went to my sign language course and yes I showed up ON TIME!!! LOL and not hung over! It doesn't take long to wake up in those classes as you have to rely only on your eye sight...so no sleeping! I went out to the bar on Saturday night again and again had a good time.

Sunday Mom and dad came over to have a look at my couch (as it was broken) Dad developed a plan to fix it, which of course I didn't understand at the moment, however I understand it now that it's fixed! LOL

That was my vacation! I already wrote about JA finishing up so you are all updated until this last week! I'll save my update from Saturday night for Tomorrows post.

JA Wrapped Up

I have to say I'm relieved that JA is over for another year. This year was more stressful then any of my other years, as Tim and I took on the wrapping up ourselves, of course the other advisors pitched in when they could and the achievers were there to do most of the work.

Tim and I have had some bumpy parts in the wrap up, some situations that we hadn't run into before, which made thing more difficult. We ended off coming off as a meanie to a couple of the kids, just because we couldn't do what she wanted us too. Ahh well can't always be the nice person!

Now we are on to our Futures Unlimited Banquet, which doesn't happen until April, but this is where the awards are handed out. I am keeping our fingers crossed for Company of the Year!!! I'll let you know in April what we get for awards!!

Sign Language

Sign language has always been something that has interested me. My friend, Jane, from high school's parents were deaf and I used to love watching them communicate and I did pick up a few word/signs from watching them. We currently have two deaf people at work, so management decided that they should offer a course on sign language so that people can communicate with these two people.

I got so excited about the course when Fonda mentioned it to me, and was all set to go, I didn't care how much it put me behind to pay the money to go I was going to take that course.

Saturday was our first lesson. The class starts at 9am and ends at 1pm. I can't believe how quickly the time goes by and I learned so much. I hope I don't forget it all before next Saturday!!! Since I am on vacation this week, I'm going to have to practice by teaching Troy and Janet!! LOL I'm sure they will love that!! haha! Maybe I"ll teach my mom too since I plan on going home for a day or so! Watch out mom..here I come!!!

All I can say is Thank you Fonda for telling me about the course!!!

Olympics 2006

I love the Olympics, whether it be winter or summer, I can't seem to stop watching the events. Most of the time staying up way past bedtimes to see who's going to win or who is going on to the next round!

I have to say that this time Canada has made me so proud! Our current medal total is 22 I just went and checked because last time I looked there was 20 we were tied for 3rd in medals with Russia and we just pulled away by two!!! And we now sit one away from the US!!! This excites me so much.

Let's recap where our 22 Medals came from:

Women's Hockey - Gold!!! These girls are spectacular! I love watching their games and I actually enjoy them more then I do the men. The men get great tv coverage anyways seeing as they are all NHL players. I love the team spirit that the girls have and their determination makes their games exciting to watch!!

Men's Two Man Bobsleigh - Silver!! I find this sport so intense! You are watching these people get into a sled and speed (and I do mean speed) down a curvy hill to see who gets the fastest time. If I could ever try this sport just once I would be thrilled! I didn't actually watch this event but go boys go!!!

Cross Country Skiing - Women's Sprint - Gold!! I've tried cross country skiing once...It was ok, not something I would want to race in tho..to me they should have a snow shoe race in the Olympics, it would be the same haha! So great admiration to Chandra Crawford!!!

Cross Country Skiing - Women's Team Sprint - Silver!! Awesome job girls!!! Seriously, this sport is a lot of work and I really admire them for doing it!

Men's Curling - Gold!! - What an awesome game the gold medal one was! I'm sure all their games where, but I only got to see the gold medal game...there were some awesome moves made and I'm very very proud of our Newfie Curlers!!! My dad is upset that one Newfie gave up his spot so the old guy could go, I just hope they make it to the next Olympics so that guy gets his chance agian!

Women's Curling - Bronze!! - Could have had gold, but at least we got a medal. I try not to look down on them when they don't win, because they have a lot of pressure on them, they are after all representing their country. But a gold really would have been nice!

Men's Figure Skating - Bronze!!! - This medal shocked me...not that I didn't think he skated well, but because he wasn't thought of as a strong skater going into the competition. Maybe Jeffrey Buttle will be then next Elvis??? I doubt it, but I sure can hope!!!

Women's Moguls - Gold!!! - I don't understand all these ski events, or why any one would wanna go down a hill with a bunch of bumps on it...LOL But Very Proud of Jennifer Heil for bringing home the gold!

Speed Skating (this is where I get really exicted!!!)
Women's 500 M - Bronze!! - I have to say if there is one sport we excelled at this year it was definitely speed skating!!! Go Anouk Leblanc-Boucher!!!!
Women's 3000m Relay - Silver!!! And the list continues!
Men's Team Pursuit - Silver!!! Still more!!
Women's 1000m - Silver!!! This skater rocks!!! Cindy Klassen is bringing home 5 medals!!! 5..thst is huge!!!
Women's 1500M - Gold!! AND Silver!!!!
Women's 3000M - Bronze!!
Women's 5000M - Gold and Bronze!!
Women's Team Pursuit - Silver!! We rocked the Speed Skating world this year!!!

Men's Skeleton - Gold and Silver!!!! Not sure what sport this is but if I had to guess it'd be Skiing!!LOL

Women's Skeleton - Bronze!!!

Women's Snowboarding - Bronze!!!!

I've seen a few of the medal ceramonies for different events the women's hockey and one that I thought was skiing...Maybe the mogals..anyway, I got all teary eyed watching our Olympians singing the national anthem and looking ever so proud!

Now a quick note on the Men's Hockey....I have a few problems with our Men's hockey team. We send our "best" (let me define best..best NHL players..this annoys me). Number 1 problem they don't play together all year so they don't play well as a team..or at least I don't find they do anyways! Number 2 We always put a lot of pressure on them..meaning we EXPECT them to win Gold...and they don't and everyone gets disappointed..so I have started not expecting them to do anything and then i'm right on key with what happens!! LOL Now if more people would think that way instead of getting high hopes and then getting mad when they don't do anything! Those are my major problems with our Men's hockey team.

Go Canada Go!! We are rocking the Olympics this year!!!

Busy Busy Bee

I know it's been awhile since my last post, but I've been so busy!

A few posts ago I mentioned JA and my involvement in the company program. Well it is getting to the end of the program and things are needing to be done and as usual I am stressing. I know that it will all get done, and I have tons of support and people helping me finish up the loose ends, but.....I always get this stress going!!!
Next week is our last meeting and we have a report to finish, books to pass in and a power point presentation to complete! I feel almost sufficated by all this work.
I'm on vacation next week and you would think that would ease my mind a little bit, but I'm busy then too!

Here is my Schedule from now until the end of my vacation:

Thursday - 5am - Work, and prepare for grant meeting and training session
Friday - Midnight (as in Thursday night) - work, train and grant meeting
Saturday - 9am Sign language course begins (Every Saturday for the next 10 weeks)
Saturday - Evening/Night - Date (yes I have one...LOL) then maybe out to the bar with Dawn
Sunday - Work on shareholder's report with Tim (probably take most of the day....I am a perfectionist you know!)
Monday - Complete shareholders report and get it printed (JA)
Tuesday - Board meeting/shareholder's meeting (JA) (then end and a bit of a sigh of relief)
Wednesday - 9am - work, I know I'm on vacation, and I really am, however, there is a client coming into Fredericton that wants to take me to dinner to show appreciation of all my hard work and I guess he just likes me..I have no idea where I was going with that. Anyway, he's coming into work to get a tour of the building.
Thursday - Go to Doaktown
Friday - Come home from Doaktown
Saturday - Sign Language Course
Sunday - maybe karate..I don't know yet!

So see...no vacation for me..I'm more busy then usual!!! I'm gonna need a vacation from my vacation!!! haha Ohh well better to be busy then board right?!

Dreams

I don't know if you guys remember you dreams, but I remember quite a few of them..Mostly the ones where I feel panic, anger, or complete joy.

Last night was an anger dream, I woke up this morning feeling very very mad and then I remembered the dream and realized why I was in a bad mood...so I began my it was just a dream talk to myself because sometimes I get really worked up over silly dreams.

In my dream, I was going for supper with a few friends, really the only ones I remember are Stephen, some girl I didn't know (but knew she worked with me). But I felt the presence of others in my dream. It was winter time as we were wearing our winter jackets. We were walking across a parking lot (I don't know where this was..some place I had never been to) We were all talking and having fun...then one of my friends asked the new girl where she was living...she said for right now in the basement with Stephen (being that we just broke up, I a little pissy) I started walking faster and towards my car, but I couldn't find it (not sure why there were only like 5 cars in the parking lot LOL) Stephen caught up to me and said I was going to tell you...I said not good enough. He said it had only been 2 weeks. I said whatever. I don't remember anything more of the conversation, other then my feeling for running home ended. Then the girl told one of my other friends that she and Stephen had been dating for 2 months..which would have cut into the time that he and I were dating.
My friend told me that the new girl had told her they had been dating a while, so I went to her and asked her how long, Stephen was standing beside her at this point, and she said awhile. I said no how F'ing long. she said 2 weeks I lied about the 2 months. I was so mad I got violent, and I don't get violent. I remember leaving. Then Stephen was there apologizing, I told him there was no use...That it was over..No friendship/no relationship. I don't stand for cheaters and liars. I was crying in my dream, but no tears when I woke up.

Now, why couldn't I have continued my dream from earlier in the night? Troy and I looking for kittie treats!!! LOL it was much more interesting!!! And less aggravating!

See when dreams bother me they always seem so real...Almost scary!!!
Anyway I thought I would share my dream with all you guys who read this...Even the ones who don't post!
BTW, Stephen, if you just happen for some reason to read this, I hope you don't take this as in I'm hung up on you, because I'm really not, there are many things I would love to say to you, but they have to be done in person and well I haven't seen you to talk to you since we broke up, not even to get my jammies! LOL

Sorry

I have offended some of my sometime commenters. So I would like to now mention the people that post, sometimes on my site.

Thank you to Tim, Melissa, Monique, Mom and Sherisse for posting a comment when they have something to say..I really do appreciate it.

I just get frustrated because when I go to my friend Jen's blog a lot of people post comments, I'm sure she hounds them until they do (as she has gotten on my case some too). My "I Give Up" post was a little harsh, but I didn't really mean it that way, I meant it to get people to comment on here more often so that I know that I'm not writing this thing as a waste of time, and that people actually do read it!

Anyway I'm really sorry to those who I've upset by that post...
