Diary Entry #1

Dear Jen,

Today was a pretty good day for it being a Monday and all.

It was my first day as Team Co-ordinator (No mom not a promotion, just extra responsibilities, same pay and only for 6 months)(that was In case she decides to read this). It was a busy day, I know how much a team coordinator does, as I have done it in the past, just not with this group.

After work, I was supposed to go walking with Darcy and Melissa, however, someone forgot their sneaks and couldn't go. (hint: Darcy and Melissa went anyways)

I decided to go visit my aunt and uncle for a while this afternoon. I got there right after work and like always they offered to feed me (what like I need to gain weight! LOL) I declined. We sat in the living room and talked for a bit, but I was actually very anxious to see the pictures my aunt had taken while away on her cruise! (she just got back last week)

Finally, the time had come for me to "help" her upload the pictures to her computer, she is a bit computer illiterate, so she really did need my help. She took some beautiful pictures of the water and of their trip. One picture was of a really really cute guy, I asked his name, but she didn't know it. She explained that every time they got off the ship, there was a photographer there to take their picture, then of course they wanted you to pay money for the picture. He was one of the photographers. I told her that she could have brought him home for me...I would have enjoyed that present!!!haha.

After we finished looking at the pictures, she reminded me that she had a dress she wanted to give me...Let me rephrase that...She had a skirt and a top for me. She joined Simply For Life and lost a ton of weight, so she's giving me all the stuff that doesn't fit her anymore. The skirt is really cool, not so sure on the top, but the way I see it..It'll work for work clothes! I don't care if I wear it outside of work or not..As long as it suits for work!

Then as I was getting ready to leave, she disappeared. She reappeared with a bracelet for me, she said it was for helping her with the computer. (she has tried to pay me countless times, but I always decline) It's a really cute bracelet and my description would never do it justice, so I've taken a picture of it for you!

This is kinda how it looks when it's on...LOL

Yes it is little Dolphins!!! Cute eh?!?!

In it's entirety

Anyways, that is all for right now, I am going to post some pictures of my kitties, cuz it's been awhile!

I Give Up

I seriously do!

I rack my brain trying to think of something interesting to write about so that you will enjoy my blog. but as far as I know i'm writing this just for Jen! No one else is reading it..once in awhile my mom, sometimes Melissa..but mostly just Jen.

So all I have to say is...don't bother reading it if you aren't going to comment..because unless you leave a comment, I don't know that you have even read it! And right now it seems I'm only writing for Jen!

I wanna be a ______ when I grow up!

We've all said it when we were kids, and some of us still do to this day.

As some people know, I volunteer for Junior Achievement on Tuesdays. This is a program for high school students that teaches them the basics of business, how to set up a business, how to produce a product, how to market their idea and how to sell the product. It's a great program, and I really enjoy working with the kids.

There is this one girl in the group, Emily, who entertains me so much. Emily is the company's VP of Finance. If we had an award for the biggest drama queen she would definitely come in first! She's so funny though. Just before Christmas, we took all the kids out selling including the executive, who aren't normally allowed to go out selling, because they have other duties to tend. Emily was in my car when we went out, she flips from one subject to another faster then me or my mom(if you can imagine that!). I find it hard to keep up with her conversations.

Anyway, one of the topics in the car that night was what the girls wanted to be when they grew up. Emily listed off 7 things. I asked her if she planned on being all those things at once, and she said no, some of them she was double thinking and wasn't sure of anymore. Here is what I remember from her list...I hope I can get them all, she talks pretty fast too! haha. Guidance Counceller, Nurse, Cop, Chef, Business Owner, Actress, and ......Ohh I forget the last one! Maybe Tim will remember when he reads this and be nice enough to post it for me!

I asked Emily why she wanted to be a Cop and not a RCMP Officer. She stated very bluntly, because she wanted to carry a gun. haha. I didn't even know that RCMP didn't have guns, anyway, we all got a chuckle out of that.

It reminded me of when I was a little girl, and all the things I wanted to be when I grew up. It would be nice, if everyone who reads this would post what they said in answer to this question when they were kids.

I wanted to be a teacher, I think that is one thing that I actually stayed pretty consistant with, until my last few years of school, when I decided that I might like to be an accountant or a doctor. I opted for the doctor, and well we all know how that worked out. UPS is not a clinic, therefore it's safe to say I did not become a doctor! haha.

Protection

Seems I have had my cry, I still get tears in my eyes, but it seems the worst is over.

I was talking to a friend the other day and we were talking about protecting our hearts. We protect our hearts and our egos, which makes it hard to get answers to the questions we ask ourselves.

Think about it...why don't you ask the cute guy/girl out? Scared of rejection right? Scared of being embarrassed? Both probably come into play as to why we don't walk up to the person we are interested in and tell them how we feel. But will you ever find "love" if you do not at least open your heart up a little bit to face that rejection? How do you move past that fear? I think everyone has it, and those who don't, need to teach classes or hold therapy sessions. haha.

I wish I had some advice to give on how to protect your heart, but still find the answers we all seek. "does he/she think i'm cute?" "do I have a chance?" "Are they just playing with my emotions/leading me on?"

I guess this is where that saying comes into play "It's better to have loved and lost, then to never have loved at all" I get these from my mom I think...she seems to be full of them!

It's funny when you are in school, boyfriends started out as being a guy you talked to on the phone every night or once a week, then they stemed into something more then that, you actually started dating, but it seemed so much easier back then. Maybe it was just me because I grew up in a small town and there wasn't much of a choice in guys...haha.

Now things are complicated, now I'm not looking for just a person to date, I'm looking for a soul mate. Possibly this is my problem, thinking too much, but that is me and I can't change that, trust me I have tried to, but it doesn't work.

I Cried

I really have nothing to post about, but thought I would post this before Jen started yelling at me at work to update my blog!

I've had a lot of things going on in my personal life lately, which I do not care to discuss on here. Let's just say it's left me feeling pretty crappy about myself, about the kind of life I'm living.

It has made me think about what is important to me, what should be, and how to fix the problems I have in my life right now.

I don't know how long it will take me to figure all this stuff out, but I hope my friends can bare with me until I do.

I cried yesterday, I'm on the verge of tears again today. I feel like I'm falling apart. Is it because it's been a long time since I have cried? Is it because what is going on in my personal life that I am trying my hardest to push off really really does bug me? More then I admit to myself or to my friends (even my closest) Yesterday, I cried for an hour. About what you might ask, stupid sentimental commercials on tv, the mess I've made, how I feel so crappy, how I feel alone, how I'm confused on what I want and who I want to be. I would say that I felt better after my cry, but I really don't and didn't. Is it because I've been working a messed up shift for the last two days and I'm just really tired? I don't know, but I wish these feelings would just go away.

My Plan for 2007

I know we have just started 2006, but I have a plan for 2007 that requires me to save money from now until then...what does this mean...this means Lisa will be very little fun until after the fall of 2007. Which really sucks!!!!

My plan is to go to Scotland for my birthday or the summer of 2007. This all depends on how my vacation pans out at work. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for the summer, as Melana tells me that the fall is pretty crappy over there, rainy and cold.

Melana has my weeks all planned out for me. I'm sure she will be working for some of it, but there is lots of family over there for me to spend time with...which also equals pretty much FREE room and board!!! and lots of traveling and seeing lots of things. I'm thinking it's going to cost me a million dollars to go over there...LOL well at least a few thousand. So I'm going to be scrimping my pennies until I go over and then again when I get back to make sure I get caught up on everything!

I know my mom is worried I'm going to go over there and never come back, however, I have reasons for coming back...number one I can't be that far away from my MOMMY and DADDY!!! Number two...what about my friends?? unless they are willing to move over there with me, then I'm not staying!! Those are two awesome reasons for coming home!

Things I need for my trip....number one MONEY and lots of it...LOL So to all family members who are going to be shopping for me for birthdays and christmas I don't want Presents this year...(except for Aunt Gail..as I do need new Jammies for my trip!!) I don't want Canadian Money, I want GBP. (If I get Canadian i"m likely to spend it on things I need for my trip..like new outfits and stuff like that) Number two a SD Card for my camera. I have a feeling I will be taking a million pictures so I need to have room for them all on my camera, unless I take my laptop, then I don't need that...hmm problem with plug ins over there I think...ahh best leave the lappy at home! I think that's really it...but I may think of more.

According to the website for Zoom Airlines, I'm allowed to bring 20KG of cargo with me. I have a feeling that 10KG of that will be stuff people will send over to Scotland with me...stuff for Melana, stuff for all the other relatives...hmm possibly Christmas Presents...save on the cost of mailing them!! Instead I'll spend 700 dollars on a plane ticket!! LOL

It should be an awesome trip and I can't wait to go!!!

Random Thoughts

-Jen's been buggin me for an update saying that I updated a whole bunch in one day and haven't updated since....so this is my update.

-So one of the worst things is knowning you have something but not being able to get it. Like for example...knowing you have a different shift/job at work and not being able to go there right away. Or ordering something off the internet...you know it's yours but you can't have it until it gets delivered! I am going to be moving to 5am to 130pm shift and I can't wait to go, but I can't go until Angela leaves the shift.....I've tried kicking her out but apparently I have no say in that!

-I live with 2 of the silliest people I've ever met. Thomas and Troy. They entertain the hell out of me. They get on their rants and all I can do is laugh. Especially when Thomas goes on about women fire fighters. I have to agree if I was in a burning building on the top floor, I don't think I would feel safe if a woman came to save me and carry me down the stairs. Just my opinion not that i don't think women can do it...I do and there are some that do, however I just would feel better if a cute fireman came to my rescue!

-Days of Our Lives.....Jen and I discuss this weekly. How stupid we think the actors/actresses are, how the storylines are so dumb, and how mean it was for them to kill Zack off just to save Claire. I mean it is a soap opera and I don't expect grand things, however, it has gotten so boring lately that i wonder if there is a reason to bother watching it! How many times can a soap play the whole who is the babies father storyline?

-Men...ok Guys..or even Boys. They all say that women are complicated....I wonder if Gay guys would agree with women when we say guys are complicated? They probably would...guys are more likey to not know what they want in a relationship, they hide their feelings, and they are just out right confusing. I know women can be complicated, lets face it...girls change their minds a lot. But we know for the most part what we want, most women find it very difficult to hide their feelings.

-Ok, I've been single for 2 years. Which is a long time for me, especially when I'm known to jump from one relationship to another. So now I'm at a point where I know I don't need anyone to make me happy, I know how independant I can be. So for the two years I've been single, I've dated several times, but usually nothing more then a first date...rarely making it to the second date, mostly I have become more picky when it comes to possible mates. Then all the sudden out of the darkness (yes darkness) rises two guys at once. The saying that goes with this is when it rains it pours!

New Years

Well...I don't have much to say. I didn't take any pictures, because I didn't know anyone there except for Brad.

We had some drinks and played a game with the boys against the girls where the boys literally skunked us! Not even one piece of pie...this one guy that was there Chris maybe? anyway he knew the answer to everything....they kept telling him that he needed a life.

I met some really great people, who I will probably never see again, but they were all great.

That in a nut shell was my New Years.

Deer in the Field

Now this is something you don't see in Fredericton! And is one thing I really miss about being at home!

Ok so they aren't the best pictures.....but I swear the blobs are deer!!!

In total there was 4 deer....two does and two fawns.

I swear there are deer in that picture somewhere!!!!! LOL I think I need a better zoom...what do you think???

Christmas Decorations

I've showed you all pictures of the inside of the Ward household at Christmas time....this year I decided to take pictures of the outside of the house. The decoration my mom dislikes the most is the Peace On Earth sign. I don't know why and she tells me she doesn't know why....but anyway I took lots of pictures of that sign just for her!!!! haha

The decoration my mom dislikes the most is the Peace On Earth sign. I don't know why and she tells me she doesn't know why....but anyway I took lots of pictures of that sign just for her!!!! haha

The Wall of Cards...the other part of the deocrations that I left out of my last post. The Wall of Cards has moved since when I was a kid. In the days before computers the wall of cards was on the wall where the Computer desk now sits...I was going to put up all my work cards while I was home, but there wasn't really room for anymore cards.

Good Picture of some Coke Stuff!!! By the way...Dad got two more houses for christmas!!!

Christmas Day 2005

I woke up in the middle of then night and took "Santa's" presents out under the tree for mom and dad. Then it was back to sleep for me!!!

I woke up for the day at about 830am. And realized that there was no opening presents until Troy and Janet arrived Christmas night at 10pm. Yes, I did say 10 PM. I thought it would be an easy task since we were quite busy Christmas Day, however as the day went on..the more curious I got with the presents...however, I did not pick up or shake any of the boxes..I pretty much left them alone! I'm so proud of myself for that!!!

I made a Nacho Dip that morning, so that we could snack on it while we waited for Troy and Janet to arrive. In the process of making the dip, I burnt my thumb...yes Burnt it! I put the cream cheese in the microwave a little too long apprently because it splattered on my thumb and burnt it really bad too. Once the Nacho dip was complete, we headed up to my aunt Gails for a Christmas Family thing. Nan will be so proud of us, as excluding Troy and Grant everyone was there! It's the first time since she passed away that all the brothers and sisters were together. I told them all that if they didn't start doing it more often that when they arrive in Heaven MY NAN was going to have their heads!!!! hahaha (my grandmother would never hurt a fly) It was a really good meal and it was great to see everyone. Altho they wanted to set me at the childrens table.....I said just because I do not have any kids, does not mean I have to sit at the Childrens Table. I was a bit offended. So my mom sat at the childrens table instead...LOL After dinner I took my dad's job of the after dinner nap. I didn't mean to but I fell asleep on the couch, apprently my dad and Uncle Lloyd (the known after dinner nappers) fell asleep on the chairs and I was asleep on the couch.

Once we left Aunt Gails and we arrived home. I headed to bed for more sleep. I didn't see the point of staying up when I couldn't open any presents.....Dad slept on the chair and I slept in my bed...I guess mom stayed up. I woke up from that sleep about 8pmish....and we waited for Troy and Janet...this was a day full of waiting!!! LOL I talked to Janet online and she mentioned that she was a hungry. So after Troy got off work I called him and asked him if he wanted to eat or open presents...he of course said Open presents.....I said are you sure cuz Janet is hungry...he said ohh then we will eat first....I said ok....I got off the phone and yelled out to mom that Troy wanted to eat first.....dad said "We waited all Friggin day for him, we'll open presents first" That was from my dad...LOL I thought it was funny.

Dad in the "waiting" Position
Once Troy arrived we did open presents first..mostly because the dressing wasn't done yet. As usual, Troy was done first, me second and then Dad...Mom was last this year. But it's usually either her and Dad who are last.

Troy gave mom and dad the DVD's to open first (santa presents) and mom said to me after that when she opened them she wondered why we would get them for her when she doesn't have a DVD player. At the time tho all she said was..."Are these DVD's?" yes I stated. Ohh she said..with a funny look on her face. Then we gave her the DVD player. She and dad exchanged the look....that look is the one that says..what great kids we have....but they really went overboard......Yes I have seen that look before.

I didn't take any pictures of us opening presents or even the results from christmas, however I did take pictures of the presents I had to look at all day!!! (when I wasn't sleeping)

Christmas Eve 2005

This year was way different then any other year. I know it is different with neither me or Troy living at home, but this year was way strange!

Christmas Eve we went to church, the one in Doaktown for a change, usually end up at the one in Boiestown for Midnight mass on Christmas Eve, however, this year there was no Christmas mass...only a 6 and 930 mass. Apparently, there is no rector in Doaktown at the moment the one that was there is on a leave to be with his family because they just had a baby. So the Father that was giving the services was on loan from Stanely.

I have to tell you it was probably one of the worst Christmas Services I have been to. I'm not an avid church goer, but when I do go I usually like the Sermens. This years had nothing and I do mean NOTHING to do with the birth of baby Jesus, or Christmas at all. He started off by telling a story about two guys, a father and son, stuck on a deserted island and them making wings to fly off the island with and then the father telling the son not to fly too close to the sun as his wings would melt and he would plunge into the ocean, what does the son do...but of course flies too close to the sun and plunges to the sea...that is where the story ended, and then he talked about the Greek Gods...which is funny because we had just finished the Creed, which states "I believe in one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, I believe in the remission of sins" One Church..one God..and here we are listening to him talk about Zeus and the lightening guy! seriously...it seemed odd. Anyway, I was not impressed..besides the fact that the only song we sang that I knew the words too (because dad didn't go get a book from the entry way!!!) was Come all ye Faithful.

On the way home from church we stopped off a Pie to a friend of the family, Glen (my computer tech, when I can't get a hold of Dumpy or Travis LOL) Of course in true Doaktown style, stopping off a pie means everyone goes into the house and sits around the kitchen table and talks, and drinks coffee (not me tho..not a big coffee fan) for about an hour.

We got home and I was sleepy so I went off to bed for the night!

Santa's new Reindeer?

Tonight when I was walking thru Zellers looking for one of those disposible kitty litter boxes, I came across tiny little reindeer horns and thought that my cats would look cute in them. They are made for small dogs, but I thought what the hay they might fit the cats. Umm I was a little wrong, besides the fact that the cats didn't want them on their heads, maybe they would have had they of fit right.

Here is Nellie, as you can tell she didn't want them on her head so she shook them so that she wore them more like a tie...haha silly kitty. This is after I got the bright idea of tying the elastic tighter. It worked, however, Nellie didn't want it on her head!

Here's a fight...not sure what it was over. Personally I think Wink was jealous that I was calling Nellie's name and wanted her to come up on the couch beside me...so the girlies got nasty with one another...Maybe Santa won't bring them anything now....lol

Nellie normally takes a bad picture, not really bad, she just looks really mad in all the pictures I have of her, but this time she has a reason to look so mad...this picture was taken right after the fight with Wink.

Wink had the same game plan as Nellie...wear it as a tie...actually in this picture, I think she is trying to figure out how to get it off...but she's pushing the wrong way.....shhhh don't tell her that tho! haha

Up close to Wink...as you will notice she still hasn't figured out how to take them off. Ha ha silly kitty!

Happy Birthday Melissa!!!

I'm a little early on this one, but we had Melissa's Birthday party on Friday night at my house.
We had a pretty good turn out considering there was a storm outside. It was snowing pretty bad and the roads were really crappy. Nonetheless the party continued on. In attendance was Melissa, Tara, Darcy, Tim, Andrea, Travis, Darren and myself. Fonda did call and say that she wasn't going to be able to attend due to the storm. I think Tara and myself were the only ones who were really drinking, everyone else was either driving, or just not drinking. Melissa got some great pictures of Tara outside, however, she is not willing to share them...LOL

Tara made a pretty snow angel in my back yard and she stole ornaments off my tree and decorated one of the trees in the back yard all for a photo op!

We started the night off by trying to play some mad gab, however, we weren't really in the mood for Mad Gab and decided we would better serve our time playing Asshole (now for family members who may be reading this..that's the name of the game....I didn't name it..so don't yell at me for swearing! LOL)

I had quite a few drinks while we were playing Asshole, it's one of my favorite card games! Definitely a good way to pass some time. However, the game is not as good with as many people as showed up at the party, so we had to stop playing. Then it became a kitchen party for awhile and then it moved into the living room. I went outside with Tara for a bit and they locked us out...we took off running for the front door...while Travis effortlessly gets up off the couch and walks to the kitchen only to lock the door just as Tara and I made it there...LOL us running and slipping on the ice/snow and we are both laughing so hard...it was just funny because Travis easily made it to the front door before us!

Everyone left the party pretty early..around midnight or so....after Travis and I had a fight over a roll of wrapping paper, he was the last person to leave the party.

I can't do the pictures like Jen can...she is yet to teach me..so I'm just gonna post a bunch of pictures.

One of our attempts to play Mad Gab....but Photo Shoots were more important...LOL

Tara and I locked out of the house...LOL

The only picture of Travis!!!

Hmmm the only person missing is Darren (Dumpy).....I wonder if anyone else got a picture of him!

Happy Birthday Stephen!

For those of you who didn't know...today is my friend Stephens Birthday. He's 29 today and for the next year....lol.

I usually suck at remembering birthdays on the actual day, so I'm every proud of myself that I actually remembered his.

Now since it is his birthday I feel I have to tell a story about him. I think the best one is when we first started dating....not that I remember much...as it was at a bar..LOL even though I met him at work.

One night a bunch of us got together and went to the bar, I don't remember who all was there because this was like 4 years ago, but every time I went to the bar I always seen tons of people I work with and it was guaranteed to be a great time. Now when I go out, I like to wander around the bar and see who all is there that I know. Sometimes meeting up with people from my home town, other times, just people I know from work.

So on one of my little trips around the bar (remember this is before sweets and rodeo got combined and I was at Sweets that night) and I was over by the pool tables (they don't have them there anymore...they are now over by the coat check, but they used to be by the second dance floor) and this guy comes up to me and says "Hi Lis" it's stephen and I knew him so I got a smile on (which is pretty much permently there) and I said "Hey Stephen" We made some small talk about work and the bar and stuff and then he says "So, You are coming home with me to night right?" I was dumbfounded....I had no idea what he meant by that. I knew he was a nice guy and that this couldn't be his way of trying to get me into bed with him...he has more class then that...most of the time anyways...LOL Besides I work with him, and that would have been awkward if that was all he wanted. I said "sure". So we danced a bit on the dance floor and then it was time to leave. Stephen hadn't been drinking (I kinda think we left early cuz I think we had to come back to the bar to pick his roommates up) so we went to his car and went for a drive and we talked...I think I did most of the talking, because Stephen is a pretty quiet guy. I imagine I was the chatterbox. I remember it was before I had gotten my Sunfire, and I kinda remember driving to different second hand dealerships, but I don't remember really looking at cars. I also remember we drove out by the traffic circle towards Nackawic. We picked up his roommates and headed to his place.

Once there we went into his room and listened to music and more of me talking until we both fell asleep...or at least I did...that boy don't sleep much!

It was a nice evening and the start of mine and Stephens relationship that was short lived, but it brought the two of us together in ways that neither of us had anticipated.

Now that my story is complete I would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Stephen (who thinks his bday is a secret...guess I just blew that) LOL

Christmas

Since it is the season to be Jolly....and for lights and cameras and stuff like that...I thought I would dedicate this post to my Dad...This is also for Melana, who now lives in Scotland and is unable to see Dad's lovely decorations this year (altho, i'm not sure if she ever reads this!). These pictures are from last year.

I thought I should start with my dad's village he sets this up every year..just for christmas...I counted the houses the other day and there are 29 I think...there could be one that I missed or something, but I'm pretty sure there are 29. I'm not really sure if there are enough people in his village for all the stores/jobs that are there, but this village is always a great job to put up! The shelf above the village has a bunch of coke stuff on it and there are quite a few coke pieces in the village.

This is a picture of my brother and his friends in the dinning room last christmas. Besides the boys that are there, it's also a great picture of the decorations in the dinning room. The only thing you can't see is the wall of cards (note to self: take pictures of card wall) The shelf above the window has a bunch of coke stuff on it..mostly tree ornaments, you might ask yourself why aren't they on the tree...well let me tell you...it's because they can't be taken out of the boxes..LOL or something like that.

This is the hallway looking out past the living room towards the kitchen. As you might be able to tell my dad is a little christmas crazy.....but we all love it and it wouldn't be christmas with out it! The shelf above the computer has a bunch of coke stuff on it.

This is my dad's tree. Just recently he has switched to all RED lights with WHITE garland...do you know what colors they are the trademark of??? See that coke lamp in the corner beside the tree. That lamp is one of only a few...or so my dad tells me...it was the one thing I was never allowed to play with or around for fear it would get broken.

Now if only I had a picture of Strawberry Squares!!! Then I could make Melana really miss home!!

My Tree is Up!!!

Today I bought an artifical Christmas tree, I prefer the real thing, however, there is going to people here on and off over the christmas season so I might as well have a fake one incase someone leaves the lights on it while we are away. It was my DAD who talked me into getting a fake tree....Can you believe that?? Mr. Christmas suggested I get a fake tree. Below are some pictures of my tree!

Happy Cat Pillows

Tonight Melissa and I went to the craft sale and to walmart after that. At the craft sale we decided to get our cats some of these Happy Cat Pillows. I got one for each of my cats. As soon as I got home and put the bags down on the couch, Nellie was up smelling everything and of course, first thing she finds the bag with the Pillows in it. I could hardly keep her out of it, as I had to go upstairs and get Wink out of bed so they would both get them at the same time. The pillow above is Nellies pillow. The pillows have Catnip, cellophane and cotton in them.

This is Winks Pillow, as you can see I couldn't get it away from her even long enough to take a quick picture of it. It has snow bears on it..it's really cute too.

Action shot of Wink going at the pillow full force!!! Trust me there were no survivors!

Here is Wink again going at her pillow! She loves that thing! Who new that a $3.50 toy would keep her so entertained!

Nellie On the Nip! She gets a little silly on the catnip!

Both of my cats on the Nip. You can't tell from this picture, but Wink is still chewing/licking hers.

New Years 1997

There is one New Year’s party that sticks out in my mind the most. The New Years Party of 1997. It was a great idea at the time, but turned out to be unrealistic!

New Years 1997. Me and some friends from Doaktown, decided that New Years would be cool if we could have a big party some place. After much deliberation, we decided that the Car Wash would be perfect. It was off the main drag, it had electricity, and most importantly there were NO PARENTS! It was really really cold that year...as in take the coldest day you remember and times that by 10 and you have how cold it was that night. One thing we apparently did not take into consideration was the lack of bathrooms and the lack of heat! Now I have to describe the car wash for you so you can visualize my New Years. I'd take a picture of it, but they tore it down since then...so sorry no picture!

The building consisted of two parts, one with a garage door and one with a regular door on the outside. The garage door is obviously where the cars are washed, it's a big empty room with a pressure washer and another door at the back. The floor is concrete, the walls are aluminum. The regular door leads to a dirt floor room where the wood is kept along with a wood stove (used to heat the concrete floor) and extra soap and other cleaning supplies. The door at the back lead to a small office of sorts, where the stereo is and another door to the wood room, also in this room is the supplies needed to wash cars.

We came prepared (so we thought) we brought camping chairs and of course coolers. The party began and it was cold in there it was actually warmer to sit on the concrete floor then it was to sit in the camping chairs or on the coolers. We sat around there for quite awhile and thought that if we drank more then we wouldn’t notice the cold.

Then came the first of the girls to have to pee…of course it was me…add alcohol and cold weather and yeah I’ve gotta pee!!! Of course there was no where for a girl to pee at least not with out freezing to death. So my friend Andrew lived in town and his parents weren’t home. I had been to Andrews a lot, and had been hired by his mom to do some light cleaning around the house.

My friend Sarah and I decided to walk down to his place to use the bathroom, it was about a 20 min walk, which we ran half the way cuz it was so cold! By the time we got there we couldn’t feel our legs, my thighs weren’t even there or so it felt. And I was pretty much sober by then.

After the facilities had been used, Sarah and I decided to get warm before the walk back to the car wash. I went upstairs and grabbed us a couple of blankets and wrapped up and sat on the couch, then we decided that we didn’t really want to walk back to the car wash and wondered how long it would take everyone to get the idea that we weren’t coming back.

We only sat there for about 20 mins before they all showed up, they had packed everything up and decided that Andrew’s place would definitely be a better place to celebrate New Years! That night we had a great time drinking and playing cards.

Andrew decided he wanted me to cook for him (he loved my scrambled eggs and bacon) So, he digs out the pans and we cooked. His parents were probably so mad at him, cuz we cooked a dozen eggs and two pounds of bacon that night! But what a feast it was!!!

That was my New Year’s of 1997.

Our First Snow of the Season

Tonight we had our first snow of the season, I know people say of the year, but I seem to remember snow in January last year not to mention for a few months after that! I decided then rather then just take pictures of the snow outside that I would take my kitties out side for the photo opt!!!! In sandles might I add..yes sandles...Troys sandles actually, not even my own! haha
I don't have a picture of me in the sandles, I'll leave that to your imagination, however think clown shoes in sandle form! haha

I took Wink out first and she headed off the deck like she normally does heading towards the grass. This time however she got about a foot towards the grass and stepped in snow and stopped short and looked around to say ohh that's cold and then continued on her merry way! One mission in mind get to the grass...haha Not sure if she thought it would go away when she hit the grass.

Nellie not sure if she wants to get in the snow
Nellie was a whole other story. Once I convinced her to go outside towards the snow, she didn't want to get off the deck, and I really had to force her into the snow, but I got some cute pictures of her in the snow!!!

Nellie after I forced her into the snow

Nellie thinking "Is it time to go in yet??"

Nellie heading for the door...I guess she's ready to go in. Her trip lasted her about 2 mins!

Soul Mates

Is there such a thing? My belief that there is such a thing keeps me going, but my belief in that is starting to fall pretty fast.

My beliefs of myself and who I am are growing stronger, however, my belief that there is someone out there that will appreciate who I am is dropping pretty fast. And I'm loving my cats more and more, they have an unconditional love, as long as I feed them and change the litter box.

I feel like I'm in such a rut, I'm not meeting anyone new, I'm staying home on the weekends and when I do go out it's to a friends place. Not that I don't like going to a friends place, but how am I too meet new peole and maybe the man of my dreams?

Good things come to those who wait, so when it gets here it's going to be perfect. LOL All this waiting can only mean wonderful things!

My cute kitties

I have the two most adorable kitties in the world (no offence to other people who have cats, I think all us cat owners think that our cats are the cutest!).

Yesterday morning I woke up with wink sleeping in her normal place at my feet all stretched out, she looked so cute. then I noticed that she wasn't the only thing in my bed with me, she had brought her mouse up onto the bed to go to sleep with, kinda like a child with a stuffed animal. The mouse of course was a toy one, it is white with a black face and feathers around the tail. It's the first time she has ever done anything like that.

Everynight, after everyone has gone to sleep Nellie wakes me up, walking through the house with her favorite toy in her mouth meowing (and she's not the best meower in the world, she sounds like a broken cat..lol) Anyway, it's so cute that she does that (annoying sometimes too when I'm trying to sleep and she won't "SHHHH"

You can definitely tell that Wink is my kitty. She sleeps all day on my bed until I get home from work, at which point, I go up stairs to change and wake her up in the process, because of the bright light. She gives me the one eye open shut off the light meow and then gives this huge stretch where she lookes like she is going to stretch so far that her little back paws are going to reach her front paws. then she sits up. and the look on her face seems to read..."mom's home I guess I should get up" Then while I'm changing she follows me around my bed, she doesn't jump off teh bed but follows me with out leaving the warmth of the bed. Once I'm ready to head downstairs. I say "Comon Wink....it's time to go downstairs" and she meows at me and follows me down the stairs. Then we usually go our seperate ways, her to the food dish and me to the couch to chat with Janet.
Last night was funny, I went through that whole scene from above and after Wink was done eating she went over to the chair that had my coat on it, crawled underneath it with only her head sticking out...it was so cute!

Wink has ONE ball that she plays with it's a pink ball with a bell in the middle of it. She loves that think I could throw it for hours and she will chase it. She isn't very good at the whole fetching thing, so I get my work out too by chasing her trying to get the ball away from her. I've started a new game with her, because our new place has stairs in it, I throw the ball up the stairs and she runs after it and usually brings it back down the stairs waiting for me to throw it back up there. If I happen to sit down on the couch while I wait for her to bring it back down, when she does bring it back down I am supposed to get right off the couch and throw it again and if I don't she bats the ball around downstairs to let me know that she has brought it back downstairs..silly kitty!

The cat house that my kitties like to sit on top of....and is Nellie's sleeping spot so she can keep an eye on the whole house!

Games Night

Saturday night I hosted a Games night at my place. I had bought the new pop culture 2 and a friend brought a couple of games over too.
Everyone stayed until about midnight or so and then headed home. We had a great time with the pop culture 2 game. Some of the questions were really hard, others were very simple.
We also played Scene it, which is also a very cool game. I really like that game.

So if you are looking for some good games night games....I suggest both Pop Culture 2 and Scene It.

My Really Busy Weekend!

I've been really busy over the last few weeks, and haven't really had a chance to update my blog.

Two weekends ago, I was really busy. I worked quite a bit of over time and had a really busy weekend to add to a busy week. I was washer and dryer shopping so that filled up my evenings.
Saturday, I woke up early and went to Oromocto to volunteer for the Oromocto Food Bank, I have to say it was quite an interesting morning. Our task was to Clean out a room and install shelves to set all the stuff into. I felt like I was on clean sweep cuz there was a lot of stuff in that room! There were about 10 of us there from UPS. We started working and we still didn't have the shelves put up by the time I left at 1140am. One of the girls volunteering found two boxes of dirty dipers....yes dirty dipers....so gross! I have never seen so many dishes before in my life!
I left at 1140am as I was going to meet Darcy and Melissa at the movies. We were going to see In Her Shoes, which I guess is based on a book (one I haven't read) as Melissa and Darcy have read that book. I really enjoyed the movie, however Darcy and Melissa were disappointed in the film compaired to the book. At the movie theatre while I was getting popcorn, I ran into my cousins, Esma and Alicia. So I had a big chat with them, they were going to see Flight Plan, one movie in which I really wanted to see. Then I ran in to my friend, Jen ( the same Jen who has been hounding me to update my blog..LOL) she was going to Elizabethtown, which she says is not all that good and to not bother going to see it. After the movie Darcy, Melissa and myself decided to go get something to eat, we decided on Jungle Jim's, since Darcy had never been there. We had a great meal, however, Melissa and I have a rule....always get dessert to go, that way you are not feeilng over stuffed, and Darcy wanted dessert there...so we left there feeiling really over stuffed. I came home long enough fora 20 min nap and then I got ready to go to Tim's Bday party. Melissa, myself, Tim and Andrea played Skipbo and Uno until about midnight when Melissa, who was still feeling the effects of our big lunch said she was tired and wanted to go to home. I styaed for a bit longer then it was home to bed for me to prepare for my next busy day.
Sunday, Lately we have all be going for breakfast on sunday mornings. Usually to the Blue Canoe. I called around to see who was going and found out it was only Tim, Andrea and myself so we decided to go somewhere closer in town. I had never eaten at Cora's so we went there. I couldn't believe it I payed 12 dollars for breakfast!!!! Mind you it was good...but for breakfast?!?! Then I went over to tim's as he wanted some help with some computer stuff..becuase he got a new dell!! I helped him out and we went shopping at the future shop for some DVD's. I had invited my friend Darren to come to the movies with Tim and I and he said he would go, but I wasn't sure until he actually showed up at the movies. We went to see Flight Plan, which I thought was ok, but Darren and Tim said it was really good, maybe I was really at a nother movie?? LOL After the movie, I went back to tim's to help him with more computer stuff and then home to watch my Sunday night Tv!
More to come soon I promise!!!
