My Friends

When I was growing up, I never worried about friends, I always had lots of friends, some closer then others. Some of my "friends" in school weren't always the best of friends or even friends at all, but they were people I shared my time with. Growing up in a small town I don't have much choice as to my friends were, I tried to pick out of the few people that were there, the ones who were nice, and kind and thoughtful....and of course a little popular!!! Everyone wishes to be a popular kid!
Now I'm 26...I have friends, and my friends have to be the best of all. Each and every one of them carry something special with them and I take great comfort in knowing that my friends have helped make me who I am today. We've had our differences at times, but the true friends are the ones who are willing to work through the bad to get back to the good. I love my friends and I've decided the best thing to do now is to do a little tribute to my friends! Cuz they are so special and I'm going to tell you all why I love each of them so much! I have a lot of friends so this might get lengthy...LOL...I'm going to only include in my post the friends who I feel the closest to, there are many others who have taught me things along the way, but the closest ones will be listed here. I'll also explain how I know these wonderful people.

Jennifer - We go way back........High School. Jennifer has been there for me through thick and thin...sometimes we didn't always agree and i'm sure lots of times I have gotten on her nerves with my "boy" problems, but she is one person I can count on to be there if I need her. We don't get the chance to talk very often, our lives have moved us kind of in opposite directions, but my happiest moments with Jen were on her Wedding day and on the day that Riley was born. I love Jen's Mommy voice she gives me when I do things that she doesn't exactly think are a great idea. I love the way even tho she may not think they are good ideas she loves me anyway. I love the advise that she gives me and I value her input.

Debbie - We go back to my birth...LOL...my mom..a great friend. I don't know how I would have gotten through all the rocky things that life throws at you with out my mom. She's a great woman and always there to support me..no matter how stupid the decision I make is. She tells me all the time that I drive her nuts..but I know she loves me.

Troy - If someone had of told me when I was 13 that when I got older my brother would be my best friend.....I would have laughed in their face and told them that they were crazy. But here I am, and here Troy is..and with out him I would have never have gotten over a few of the hurdles I have had to face. One thing i love about family is they have to love you no matter what you do or say. I would never have imagined the relationship that troy and I have...I hope he's ready to wear the pink dress and be a brides maid at my wedding...in about 40 years!!! LOL

Melissa - I met this wonderful person 5 years ago or so. She's a co-worker and she's a very close friend. I can count on Melissa to be there to listen to me when I need her, and to make me laugh when I need the laugh. We've been through a lot in 5 years and our friendship is still going strong. I know that this friendship is around to stay for many years to come. I love the way Melissa and I can talk about everything and nothing, I love the way that we share a lot of the same interests, I love the way her smile can light up a room, and most of all I love the look she gets in her eyes when she is up to something! One of the traditions Melissa and some of the other friends from UPS have is taking a bathroom picture! They always turn out the best!!!

Darcy - I met Darcy Lou in my training class at UPS. Since that first day where we were thrown together we have been friends ever since. We have seen each other through some tough times. and we have had some great times. I love how Darcy is beautiful, but doesn't know it, I love how she has a warming personality and would jump at the chance to help a friend.

Fonda - I met Fonda in training as well. Fonda has so much good coming from her that it would be nearly impossible to not like her. Fonda has a great way of seeming happy even when something is bothering her. She finds the good in everyone...she's just amazing. I had the biggest compliment once. Her sister was visiting from Calgary and she said to me "You have to be one of Fonda's friends because I see some of her in you" and that has literally got me through some bad moments in time. To have someone who is a stranger tell me that she sees part of a person who I respect so much in me...I feel it is an honor to have her of said that! Thank you Tina! I love Fonda's creativity, I love her personality, I love the way she is with people and I love the way she tackles problems.

Stephen - We started out kind of dating and some how ended up more friends then lovers. I wouldn't change my friendship with him for the world. I think we make much better friends then we did a couple. We have seen each other through a lot of bull...I love the way Stephen is so mechanically inclined...altho this is not my only or biggest love...it's definitely a good thing! I love the way Stephen has a look that makes you know he means business, I love the way he carries himself and how he presents himself to people, I like the way he pretends to be a meanie, but inside he's a romantic screaming for someone to notice.

Tim - He's a quiet guy, but he's always there when you need him. He may be quiet, but he gets his comments in and when he does it's either a really good burn or it's really funny!!!! I met Tim about 4 years ago, when my dear friend Melissa decided that him and I would make a good couple. That didn't happen, however I gained a good friend. I love how Tim is ready to go any where just about any time, whether it's a trip to Moncton or St. John just to get Taco Bell or a concert in Halifax. Tim is always easy going. I love how he is so thrifty, altho I bug him a lot about it, I wish I was like that!

Darren AKA Dumpy - So about a year ago, I was online chatting and I started talking to this guy, he was funny, entertaining, and he lived about a block from my apartment. You can say we kinda hit it off. Since then we have been pretty good friends. I think he's worth mentioning, I haven't known him near as long as I have everyone else here, but he's a pretty good guy. He gets a little vulgar when he's drinking and I'll be the first to admit that. But most of the time I just find him entertaining and easy to talk to. I love how darren calls at 1am drunk and wants to talk...can't get the guy on the phone any other way!!! I love the way he makes me laugh and is pretty easy to tormet seeing as he works at the dump and all! I love how he gets dump goodies!!! I wish I could get dump goodies!!!

Those are the friends that I spend the most time with. There are others who are important, but these are the ones I know outside of work, and I hang out with on the weekends.
